this isn't Frank but the compensator nut holds the primary chain crankshaft sprocket on the crankshaft underneath the sprocket is the stator which makes the voltage to run all your accessories and what not.....nut comes off and all that stuff can be damaged can get really ugly.. |

Yes, but LUCKILY we were real close to home when it happened...it's not coming off now though "> 200 ft# of torque and a liberal amount of red locktite, should keep most anything in place for a while "> edited by cyclone1 on August 04, 2003 |

Frankster... Start pricing a keg... and what brand would we be talking about. I went to the mortgage company tonight... and the guy did not bust out laughing when I completed the paperwork... which I guess is a good sign... his advise was that all looked OK... make an offer on the house tomorrow. Either he knows what he is talking about... or he has a very sick sense of humor. ...and by the way... Smirnoff vanilla Vodka is a bit better than McCormick vanilla Vodka... if you were wondering. Stress!!!! Not me!!! ...anyway... so far... so good... but then again... the optimist who fell off the 100 story building said... "90th floor... so far so good!" "80th floor... so far so good!" "70th floor... so far so good!" etc!!! With any luck (and typically if it were not for bad luck I'd have no luck at all) come the first of November... I could be a home owner... or at least a minor stock holder in a home. A garage... and at least as much space as you have at your place for a personal bike shop. If I get this house... the Arkansas trip is out. Which I guess is a good reason to miss out on that... |

Mobbers... good news/bad news I won't be able to make it tonight... (you decide if that is good or bad news) Good news... basically the seller accepted the offer on the house... but would not include the washer and dryer. I was really expecting this. bad news... I wanted to take possession the last week of October due to a mandatory 60 day minimum notification to break my lease. The seller wants me to take possession August 28th, thus getting me in a situation where I am responsible for two months rent and a $600.00 "break least" fee. Almost $2000.00. SO... needless to say I am VERY distracted... and should not be on a vehicle that will fall over if I forget to put a foot down... and as distracted as I am trying to figure out a way to make the house happen when I do not have the $2000 to buy out the lease.. that is a REAL possibility. Plus I am still negotiation to move the take possession date further towards October. SO... I will catch you guys next week and let you know how the house ends up... and... will you help me move if I can only provide the cheapest beer I can find... and hotdogs??? later mobsters... cross your fingers!!! |

Hey lighten up man. I carried 2 mortgages for 6 months when I left Olathe. The Ks house closed on April 30th and I was free of that, then was laid off on May 7. But I was OK cause I had my Buell.... then it broke. |

Don't even say broken Buell... I don't want to spend my Tuesday nights sitting on a broken bike watching two wheel Tuesday on speed channel pretending I am riding!!! |

Dennis, If you close on August 28th your first payment on the house shouldn't be due until September 28th. That takes $600 out of the equation. How much was your security deposit? If the place is well maintained you can figure that into the equation also. give the 60 notice. that takes you to October 7th. Use the time that you have to move slowly and at your convience instead of rushing around and adding turmoil to your life. How long have you been in your current lease? I deal with the opposite side of this situation all the time. If the tenant has been there for quite awhile, paid on time or early, the place has been well maintained, and generally not been much trouble then most landlords are quite understanding and will bend a bit if you explain the situation. Thats not to say that you won't run into a few that come from the "screw you, pay me" school. Speak to the landlord, explain the situation and see if they have any suggestion on how you might handle this situation. Make them feel like they are part of the decision process and you may get a bit further with them. Keith |

Digger... thanks for the moral support.. it means more to me than you realize. We finished negotiations... we will close on September 18th and take possession on the 20th. I talked to the apartment office this afternoon... and all they see is the corporate view. There is no flex or compassion. My security deposit is only $150 and I have NO doubt they will find a reason to keep it. This is the start of my 5th year at this complex... and it makes no difference... only $ matters. AND... they see things in even months only. It looks like since the seller gave a bit that I will be out one months rent and the $600.00 "break lease" fee. Better then the first counter offer... but still a hit for $1200.00+ to get out of the lease. I guess the positive side is that I really believe the house will be obtained for $20,000 under market. As is it is a 3 bedroom 2 bath with 1745 square foot house total... basically in outstanding condition. A two car gravel floor detached garage, above ground pool, triple deep, single car garage in the basement... with the basement set up for a full bath. With a $6,000 project to finish the half of the basement and relocating the laundry back into the basement... the house could be a 3 full bath, 5 bedroom house, with big rooms and good storage. I still can't believe it at $93,000.00 in a good neighborhood in Independence , MO. (I grew up in Indep. and was a cop there for 8 years) I would be stupid to not do whatever it takes to get into this!!! once again... thanks for your support!!! |

Dennis, Sorry to hear that they keep they took the corporate approach especially after you had been there for 5 years. I generally would have tried to work something out for someone who had been there that long. Sounds like it is going to work out for you though. At least you won't be paying for both at one time. Though it appears you will get hit with a slim month in Oct. Glad to hear things are somewhat workign out on this. Keith

Dennis the menace, Hehe, I'm with digger in saying that I'm glad things are "somewhat" working out...Probably speaking for the rest of the mobbers as well as myself, if you need anything, just let us know Sorry I didn't make it last night...I got into an accident on the way to work yesterday morning. Some stupid broad didn't see the car parked in the fast lane right after the stoplight, and slammed on her brakes. There wasnt enough room for my tired ol car to stop, and I rear-ended her. Of course its MY fault cause I did the rear-ending (according to my insurance company...dirty bastards) Biggest thing that pissed me off about it, was that there is NO visible damage on her mid 90's grand am, and my car is pretty much scrap metal now. So unlike dennis the menace, I'll be bike punking it till the snow flies....

Dennis, Just realized something. It all works out just perfect for you!!! you close on the house on Sept 18th then leave for Ark on the 19th!! the gf can take possession for you on the 20th and get you all moved in!! Then you can arrive home and relax in your new home on the couch on the 21st!!! talk about perfect timing!!! LOL j/k Frank, Glad to hear you are ok! Now don't go acting like it is going to break your heart to have to ride the bike for the next couple months!! Keith
