Repost... Breakfast in Nelson 7:30am Friday June, 18 @ Twin Bluffs Cafe http://tinyurl.com/Nelson-Meet-up Address...S286 State Road 35 S, Nelson, WI Kickstands Up @ 8am Arcadia Meet-up at about 8:45am. Kwik Trip Arcadia http://tinyurl.com/3y87696(Google says 1hr Nelson to Arcadia...it is really about 45min) Address...1625 E Main St Arcadia, WI If you want to get on the phone list send me a PM with your info. I will compile a list of cell #'s and Emergency Contact info and e-mail it out prior to the 18th. This way you can put the #'s in your phones if you want to. I will be navigating with GPS and will have the exact route saved. If you run a Garmin that can import maps, I can transfer the route to your GPS at meet-up. Route (almost finished) http://tinyurl.com/NelsontoHomecoming What do you think? Pat and Karla P.S. If you have my # feel free to call me if you have any questions/suggestions. |

Great route! If I could make one small tweak, I would take County Rd DD to 54 outside of Ettrick. Its got some nice twists. County Rd P out of fountain city is pretty nice too. Taking that through Dodge and up the lower river road/ County Rd J to Arcadia would add some time, but it is a great ride. Im hoping to meet up with you guys somewhere, but I dont think Im gonna head to HC. If you want me to do some route recon, let me know! |

Man, I wish I knew how to get that route on my Garmin. Carl and I will be leaving on Thursday AM. I think we will use most of that route. If you want, you can put my cell on list too. 612 six one six - 7 zero four 8 |

Bluzm2 http://bikeroutetoaster.com/ Select Course Creator 1. Change from Track point to Course point 2. Change from metric to Imperial (Options) Play around with it and use the "Help" if you need. If you have used Google maps it will be easy. Then open "Nelson to Homecoming" map on one side of your screen and manually copy it on Bikeroutetoaster. Beware... I make several short routes and save them. I have had trouble importing large maps. Several small maps are better. I saved this route in 4 parts. When you are done... Click the "Summary" tab Hook up your Garmin to your CPU In the "Download" box... To Garmin GPS...Click gpx All maps will transfer with a set Title. When you disconnect your GPS you will be asked if you want to manage the new data. Say yes and rename the new map. (Hint...I use a # then name when making one large route into smaller ones.) Make sure you check your work by comparing the written "Turn by Turn" directions and your map. Ask me how I know. Hope this helps. (Message edited by union_man on June 12, 2010) |

Has it been discussed what tools and spares people are bringing with? I will definitely have a netbook and ECM Spy cable with. I have a lot of spares and tools....however by rear bag brackets will not be here in time, so my packing space is limited! |

So, I just posted on the room sharing thread. Have not heard back from the peeps I know in Milwaukee, which is not surprising as they both have "real" weekday jobs. If I can firm something up, I'll see you guys manana. If not, prolly not unless I get a wild hair and ride with you to breakfast. I think it'd be a blast doing the homecoming thing and I'd regret not going. My fingers are crossed that something pans out. Will keep you guys posted. BeLinda. |

Fltwistygirl You should post on X-Board and Big Bad and Dirty boards...due to the short notice. OR... I called Alpine Valley Resort (APVR)... APVR is sold out. They did not know of any camping close to APVR. They suggested the Country Inn and Suites, East Troy. It is less than 5 miles from APVR. I called Country Inn, East Troy... They have rooms...for now. The cheapest room is $109 with 2 queen beds. They confirmed it is less than 5 miles away and that several Buell people are checked in. PH# (262) 642-2100 APVR also gave me these hotel #'s Pickwick Inn (262)642-5529 Sleep Inn (262) 363-9970 I hope this helps!
