I went to mid-ohio yesterday for the second time this year. Since my last trip I have installed the 5 mm rotor and EBC extreme pro brake pads. When the brakes were cold it had awesome bite but when they got warm I was having to put more effort into the lever. I think they will work fine but that was a change from my Erik Buell Racing pads that had bite in them all of the time. I did notice NO brake fade and that was awesome. My biggest issue for the day was the front fairing! I was banging my helmet off of it the whole time I was on the bike going from side to side. Does somebody make a smaller fairing? All in all it was an awesome event. I got a few compliments on my Drummer exhaust and it sounds wicked on the video the wife took. I love riding my 1125r on the track. I wish I could turn it into my track bike. But for now it has to see double duty. |

Try a double bubble, I know it's "taller" than stock but the extra bubble gives more "tuck" space.. (Message edited by jules on June 13, 2010) |

What I was hitting the most was the two upper edges. Every time I would go hard into a corner and get my upper body down I would wack the corners. I feel like it is hurting my ability to get off the bike more. |

We had to cut about 4 inches off of Shawn's faring for exactly the same reason at Willow Springs. As you're aware, the Double Bubble won't help because your helmet is contacting the fairing "ears" and not the windscreen. (Message edited by slaughter on June 13, 2010) |

Slaughter, How did the bike look after you cut it? I hate to cut on my bike but may have to. It was very annoying. |

I'll have to try a pic to see if I can find it. We ONLY cut the fairing ears to match the rear of the windscreen - did NOT cut the windscreen. Had to fool with the cut angle before it just "looked right" I'd suggest using narrow masking tape to get the shape looking good before you cut. We did it at the track with a hacksaw. I think Wolf's bike that he bought from Shawn has that fairing on it... but it's been a couple years now. |

With the 1125R fairing in standard configuration, the frontal area is huge. Looking from the front, the hand controls are almost completely covered.
The race 1125RR and 1190 have less frontal area in front of the hand controls.
Last time I saw Higbee's bike was at Fontana. His fairing looked fairly standard, maybe slightly cut. Not like the latest Erik creations |

I bought a spare top fairing off eBay for 30 Euros... might be worth getting hold of one, it's incredibly quick/simple to swap them over (as I'm sure you know).. |
