If the first 160 miles (all yesterday) are any indication, then I'll have to say the $250 that I spent for Erik Buell Racing's pump gas/stock ECM could be the best $250 I've spent yet on my '09R. What a difference!! I'm saying that from the perspective of being quite happy with my 142 OEM flash, and really wondering if spending the money would be worthwhile. I took it right off the shelf, no changes requested. The results >> - Can't describe how smooth it is down low. I can one-hand at 15-20 mph through a school zone without thinking about it. - It is running a bit cooler. My stop-and-go in traffic (similar weather conditions) had me around 189-192 vs 197-203. - The mid range is sick, in a good way. I didn't notice a ton of SOTP difference up top, but I wasn't expecting to either. - Didn't miss the 'cold' blink or the little RPM blip that accompanies releasing the clutch on the factory ECM. - Engine braking, didn't notice a lot of difference which works for me. A bit of difference maybe, but not remarkably. - The bike idles at 1,400 and has a nice little thump to it even with stock exhaust. Sounds better and 'feels' better. I confirmed with Michael that I needed to do nothing but swap in the ECM. No disconnecting BAS or anything like that. Didn't need a TPS reset either. My 7 year old son helped with the install ... Pretty easy stuff. Fired it up, off I went. I even found a new country highway with long sweeping turns just perfect for throttle. Might go back today Mike |

De-Noid, 2300 miles last night and maybe five hundred miles on an ECM like yours. Then I did the trick in the "Hidden HP - some air box testing" thread. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/290 431/570561.html?1276346970 Now an exhaust system based on the upcoming shootout results will make my :-) face extra :-) ! |

Danny, having trouble opening that thread ... Getting a strange error. In a nutshell, what is the 'hidden hp' mod? Thanks man! Mike |

Milleniumx1, I aint't mad at another ECM thread. Thanks for the follow-up! last I seen you were thinking about some "tweeks" to the set-up and I'm glad you went with it "straight up" as mine will be here Tuesday and I went the same route. You're report is exactly what I wanted to here. Be safe and Congrats! |

Congrats, bro and ditto to all your comments, probably the best $250 I've ever done to a bike, ever. Enjoy. |

Another 100 spirited miles yesterday while all the minivans were safely parked at church lots along the countryside. Looks like the mileage improved, even though I was riding it harder ... Ave = 33 compared to my usual Ave = 32. Not that I care about mileage when riding aggressively, but since the fuel doesn't pay for itself Mike |

I think you will find that it just gets better the more miles you put on. |
