I have an XB 12 and a 9. Thinking of getting an 1125 and I am curious if you could tell me some of the non-bodywork differences between the R and the CR? From the little I've read it sounds like the CR is a bit more "laid back" compared to the R. Think I saw somewhere that the gearing is taller on the R. Are there a lot of other things different between the two? Hate to ask stupid questions!! Thanks. |

The CR has 8% shorter gearing. The CR with clubmans is no where near as laid back as you think (worse than an R?) The CR with high bars is a more 'standard' riding position which most prefer. The CR has less (no) wind protection. I think my CR runs about 5k rpm at 80mph. That is about it... |

Thanks Kirb, For a larger person like myself (6' 2" and 270) is the rider position more or less roomy or tight than an XB? Especially thinking of the legs. Do the high bars make a big difference? Thanks again. |

You'll want the high bars, I'll bet. And maybe lowered footpegs. Are the 2" lowered available yet? |

I have a set of 2" drop pegs for the XB, are they the same pegs? I thought the high bars would be helpful if I get one. Daniii, what is that pad on your seat at your profile page, just a cushion? Thanks! |

CR likely better then R in town. R has wind bubble that owns Both take 1 or 2" drop pegs. Bars I like the R at 120KPH as wind holds you up but my neck hates the R bars in town. I am 6'2" but with short legs. giant long torso, gorilla arms and at 300lbs chest acts like a sail. My neck hurts as i have to hunch over the bars. Ive got a set of CR high bars and a riser that's due soon. That will fix the only thing i don't like about my bike. |

I have an 09 CR and it came with the clubmans on it. I put the tallbar kit and the 1" drop pegs on and the seating position was similar to my old X1 Great for around town, on the track, not so great. Put the clubmans back on and stock pegs...perfect for the track, not so great around town. As far as being laid back? I dont see it. I havent ridden an R but with the lower gearing and the same exact motor I'm led to believe it would accelerarte harder off the line than the R. Of course it wont hang with the R on a super speedway. I'm on the fence if I should get an R or just stick with my CR....I love my CR. CR swingarm is a lil shorter too. (Message edited by 01lightning on June 06, 2010) |

Jwey, that is an AirHawk seat cushion. It is incredible. Doesn't get hot, and distributes the load based on how little air you put in it. World of difference for my apparently bony ass on the stock seat. I have a Corbin on the V-Rod, but I also have an AirHawk for it. I wouldn't recommend it for canyon carving though. |

Thanks for all the replies. I think I'm built similar to you Ratgin, I have a 34" inseam at 6' 2" which is a bit short in the legs I think. |

my CR was transformed with rizoma bars and 1" drop pegs. the high bar kit was MIA when I put it on, but same result. rides much like my old M2. 6' 240lbs. very nice bike to ride now. |

I had to swallow my pride, as I really wanted to keep the clubman bars on my CR. Unfortunately, they didn't like me. So, my hubby put on the high bars and they are 1000% better. I can't thank him enough for talking me into putting them on. Now if I could just touch the ground better. |

'09 CR, 6'4", 34" inseam. Touring seat and Ulysses (1" drop) pegs, stock clubman bars....LOVE IT. I've done track and town days on both R and CR. R is great on the track and the slab. CR...more realistic, at least for me. I ride more technical, less slab...CR is geared perfectly. 65-70mph and the wind pocket takes most weight off your wrists. Riding position will be similar to your 12R (I have knuckle-dragger arms so the reach is easy). If you put high bars on it, it'll feel like a mega-powerful XB-S bike. You're in Elkton; I'm in Frederick. Wanna take a ride, just let me know. Be happy to toss you the keys to my CR for a few miles |

One downside of the shape of the little bikini fairing on the CR: at 75mph, it's the "perfect" size, shape and position to channel bees and other similarly dense bugs directly at my throat. I got whacked three times in the adams apple today - one was some sort of flying potato bug or something because it exploded in an yellow goo all over my neck. Now this is of course height related (I'm 5'8"), so maybe if you're taller these things will just commit suicide against your jacket. The riding position feels very similar to my old X1 from the waist up. High pegs are great for ground clearance (and no big deal to me with my stubby legs), but you'll wanna drop yours if you're not gonna be using all your tire edge. |

Thanks all for the feedback. Sounds like it will be a fun bike to have. Ratbuell, thanks for the offer. I may take you up on it sometime. Kind of swamped with work right now so I won't be riding very far from here for a while. Maybe later in the summer. Thanks again!! |

Now if I could just touch the ground better. : ) Just ordered some riding boots. Hope to get them in a week or so and hopefully this will give me the lift I need to stand more firmly on the ground when I come to a stop. |

I notice that as it breaks in, my seat seems to be lower - I can now stand flat footed. Maybe yours will do the same. |

We actually picked up a used firebolt seat and my hubby shaved it down quite a bit to help, and it did. But having a 29" inseam I still need all the help I can get. |

I actually fitted the seat from my 06 Firebolt to my 09 1125R before I sold the Firebolt, much better for long distances |

6ft. 200 lbs. My R fits me perfectly and like they said, it handles great on the track but, CR is probably better in the streets if your not looking for high end speed. However, I think the CR likes to put its nose in the air a bit more than the R. I wish the R would do that as easily but I can't get it all I guess. Also, the pegs on the R fit me perfectly so, I would imagine your additional 2 inches would require lowering the pegs a bit. |

I am 6'-1" and about 200. I own both XB12 and an 1125R. The fit of the 1125 is significantly better than the XB for us taller cats. Peg and bar position are about right for me. Don't know about the CR. |

I'm so excited. I got my boots in the mail today. They have about a 1 3/4" heel. Now if I could just take it out today, but alas, it is raining. |
