Can anyone give me a complete listing of part numbers including oil filter adapter and hoses for fitting an XB style oil cooler on my X1W frame? Also, what modifications if any are required to the frame?

Thanks!

DB

Ok, so if you want to make a profit, and I have you source the exact parts you have (even if custom) how much? Seems you have already done very good planning and such and the installation is very nice, very clean. I would have no problem with you making good on this and making a good profit as I hate sourcing the correct materials myself. Would pay what you tell me you want. Please respond or PM if you would like to help in this way. Thanks!

A parts list or "package" would be good. I looked the web over for a Spurgin Cooler that Force used to carry and could not find one of those either. : ( just that the XB one looks cool but I would want to install like the Spurgin and have the adapter behind the oil filter...

DB,I have been a little reluctant to reply since posting that link of the pics of my cooler set up.
The reason being that I'm having a difficult time building sufficient oil temp with the XB cooler.( I think it could be used as a radiator for a Honda car).

Weather has been unusually cool here in eastern Kansas this year.
On a 80 degree day I could only get 140 oil temps so I made a perforated grill(3/32" holes on 1/8" centers) for the cooler thinking that slowing down the air flow would raise the oil temp.... Wrong!

It made the damn thing more efficient because the oil temps dropped down to 125.
Next I plugged it with shop rags and got the temp up to 145.

Next experiment was to fit a piece of sheet metal that 100% covers the outboard fins on the cooler but still allows the scoop to be installed and the temp came up to 150 on a 80 degree day.

Saturday we had 92-94 degree temperatures and 85% humidity and all I could get out of it was 162 which is still way to low as I'd like to be at 190-200.

I have considered using a thermostat controlled oil filter mount like the one in Dave's link but that defeats the lo-buck approach I was trying to accomplish by plumbing direct.
I may just remove it and switch back to synthetic ..... have not decided yet.

As far as supplies go I used Stratoflex because a local truck repair shop owed me a favor so I didn't have to spend any money so to speak, but I estimate the cost about $50.

On my install I used 20-1/4" of #6 hose, one 6-1/4" and one 14", three #6 straight fittings, 2 for the cooler 1 for oil pump, and one 90 degree for the filter housing, along with two #6 x 1/8" male pipe fittings because the oem are I believe #4.

The mounting bracket is a piece of 1/8" Aluminum that bolted to split clamp that I made.

It works both ways in getting the oil TOOO HOT or getting it TOOO COOL, as in NOT GOOD FOR ENGINE !!!

MUST HAVE A "THERMOSTAT" !!!

This one would work if you could find somewhere to put it.
