I have the wiring harness recall that needs to be done, problem is nearest dealer is over an hour away. Will the dealer come get the bike since this is there problem? With my work schedule it will be hard to drop off. Any thoughts? thanks |

Dealer won't get paid by HD to pick up your bike, so he won't do it for free (unless he REALLY likes you). He might do it for a fee. The service takes about an hour (mine took 1/2 hour). Any chance you can ride out on a Saturday and have it done? I would call the dealer, run your VIN, have him order parts, and then schedule the service. He might not have the harness unless you reserve/order one for you. |

Oh, and it's not a recall...you don't HAVE to do the upgrade. |

It isn't a recall, it is an optional product upgrade. If it was a recall you would have grounds to stand on to have the dealer pick it up, but being that its not you might not be able to get that kind of service for free. That said, see if possible you can have the work done while you wait. Drop it off, have lunch and pick it up later. |
