Hey all, it seems more lately (2,800 mi.) that when I get on the front brake hard there is some type of sensation, I wouldn't call it pulsation yet, but I can definitely feel and hear a rotational noise/grind? Anyone else experience this? Kinda hard to describe unless you have felt/heard it yourself. | ||

The stock pads are prone to leaving deposits on the rotor. Other pads like Lyndall Golds or EBC HH can actually remove the deposits. You can also try a scotch brite pad to clean up the rotor. | ||

When I changed my rear tire I scotch brited the rear pads and cleaned the rotor, it made a noticeable difference. Maybe I will try the same up front. | ||

There's a very definite noise when braking - sounds like a whirring/chirping. If you're getting a rotational position braking dependence, you've got deposits on the rotor. Either go bed the brakes, or scrub the rotor with something. The usual cause for these is leaving the front brake applied at a stop when hot - it'll transfer more pad material to that particular chunk of rotor. I always use the rear brake to hold me when stopped, especially if the front rotor is hot. | ||

I've been noticing that also. But then last night the darn thing made a sound like the left fan fell off and got stuck b-twix the rim and something. What ever it was, something really screw happened. I don't see any marks of scratching and nothing I can tap is loose. Scared the crap out of me to the point where I slowed down and started doing the speed limit. Is that a scotch brite pad with water or soap or raw dawg | ||

Can you give us a description of the sound? Like "click click click" or "wheeeeeezeeee" or whatever. And, is it speed related? Can you take a picture of your rotor and your drive bushings? How about of your brake pads? | ||

Guard_rail Just dry humped it with some green Scotch Brite... Jdugger, Best way I can describe it is a grinding sound, not metal to metal, but a rough rotational sound. I can also feel it. It is only noticeable when hauling down hard from faster speeds (above 50 mph). I will clean up the pads and rotors as the next step. I dread making another warranty claim after the wailing and gnashing of teeth I have been through with them thus far for the clutch, stator harness and Cali can. | ||

Post up clear pictures of your rotor, pads if you can (turn the steering head and take a picture of the outside of the caliper radially) and of your drive bushings. YOU MUST USE A TRIPOD AND A TIME DELAY ON THE PICS. Handheld will not be steady enough. |
