Just wanted to get this started and mention to anyone from the Southwestern states who plan on riding through Colorado to let us know so hopefully we can connect and ride together. |

I might be trucking my bike. so I could be a follow vehicle. Could have a major meet-up spot in Colorado though I wouldnt mind going up past Rushmore for the first time. |

Cool Paul. I know there are several months between now and Homecoming and plans will change. By Interstate most of us in Colorado will be intersecting I-80 from I-76 in Nebraska. Depending on your route, you might connect with us as we pass through Denver going up I-25 |

I'm still deciding on my intended direction, will probably go north then east on I-80 the whole way. But if I can take an extra day off I might go by way of CO if there are no other Buellers from N.Utah heading out. Riding or traveling with a groups helps me keep on schedule, otherwise I doddle. -Mike |

Ha-ha, That doesn't bode well. Hope fully some fast movers decide to make the trip too! I'd take three weeks if I ran the trip alone, or maybe just stop and stay somewhere along the way permanently, until something came along to drag me west again. |

It appears the vast majority of miles are going to be straight, hence my inclination to truck the bike. It seems strange though going to a bike rally with a truck. I'm torn. It also appears at least for now, not many westerners are going. |

Well perhaps if we blaze the trail and get some travel plans in effect early others will drop in for it as we get closer to the event date. This planning six months out is a new experience for me. As to the trip, well if you pack the bike in a vehicle and ride share you can make good time with a driver and a passenger sleeping. We got from SLC at 04:20 to Des Moines at 01:35 (local, so actual travel was an hour less). That was with the wife and I taking turns, usually longer meal breaks and fuel stops than others might make. As to Westerners... It is a long way, but I don't need to tell you that, even further for you...
...this is from my October trip, there and back with a side trip trip out of the way by about 200 miles total. "If you build it they will come?" I'm just trying to be positive I guess. |

I'll be on my red '09 XT leaving Colorado Springs early morning on the 14th, Staying in Rapid City, SD that night. Another early morning departure on the 15th and head for Dawson, MN for the night. Early morning of the 16th I'll be east bound and down! Frank Skinner may be with me from Colorado Springs on, but those plans aren't set in stone yet. Here's a ride plan: http://rideplanner.harley-davidson.com/rideplanner /share/284868 If anyone wants to meet up along the way, just let me know. 402-253-4961 |

Phillip, my plans are starting to firm up but I am afraid I will not be able to go on your adventure. We will be trailering the bikes and I will be picking up a slide in camper for the truck close to East Troy... That is a great story in itself as I have been looking for the right camper off and on for years then I discovered Four Wheel Campers http://www.fourwheelcampers.com/ unfortunately they do not have a big dealer network so I called the one closest to East Troy. The dealer salesman is a Buell rider and will be attending Homecoming as well.... How cool is that. Thanks for starting this thread Jody. Frank |

I'm glad you are trailering Frank, for that means Lynn is going, too. I'm in it for the adventure so I may just tag along with Phillip. My economics outlook needs to get brighter, sooner, but damn it, I will be there. |

We are a days ride away from Millwaukee but won't be taking off until after work Thursday. If you want to save a buck and spend the night here you are welcome (well at least the first few takers). I will have some cold ones, just drop me a note if interested. |

Jody, I will fly Lynn out to WI and will pick her up. She will not have much vacation time at that point since she is just starting a new job. Mike, that is a nice offer. I think I will find a place to camp somewhere in IA close to the interstate as not to waste too much time. |

Hey Bob, that sounds good. Were y'all planning on camping or motelling along the way? I'm sure I'll be on my CR and will be packed for summer camping. |

Let me know when you have your overnight stop picked out. I will see if there is a camp ground or really cheap motel there. |

Jody, Sorry for the delay. Our base plan is to leave early Tuesday, 15 June and meet the westerners at their stay in Cheyenne. If you want, you can crash here Monday night. I believe the plan is to stay in or around Lincoln, NE on Tuesday night. Then Alpine Village for Wednesday. Bob |

I'm not going to be able to do this thing. Got a big surprise of owing over $1600 this year and having taken a pay cut it's just too tight. I'll be putting three banquet tickets up on the that thread unless there were some still needed by guys here. If yal need a layover or a place to wrench here in Salt Lake I'll be happy to help. Thanks -Mike |

Bob, I got the job and it doesn't start until June 21st! If it isn't too late to tag along I'd like to. I can either stay with y'all Monday night or meet everyone in Cheyenne. Now to start packing the bike. Oil change first, then packing. |
