Not saying the OP is right or wrong, but she probably posted without knowing anything about the fire sales, and dropping value of her bike. Then so many people have to jump down her throat. Do you really think if she knew the real value and was trying to get away with something she would post on a Buell board?
Its funny how so many people on here will post on how import boards will bash Buell, and Harley people will bash Buell, and take such offense. Then people turn around and do the exact same thing. God forbid someone doesn't sit on the board 24/7 and know everything about every part of their Buell. How dare someone have a different opinion then you.
Sorry rant over, this is exactly why I hate this board. Unfortunately I am forced to keep coming back because there actually is some good info on here in between all the pompous ass's.
No offense to the posters that do a great job of making a great resource for fellow Buell owners. I thank you! |

None taken Jimmy. It just seems sometimes that the "trailer trash" comment fits more and more. Court, as usual was/is right.
It would be nice to post on a this forum without fear of prosecution. |

Of course, but anyone posting a used '08 for $10k is going to raise some eyebrows.
I'm sure the post was innocent and in good faith, but it does reflect someone who's a bit out of touch with current market conditions.
I'm not sure a used '08 model has *ever* been worth $10k. |

Did u see that PM she posted, gotta say that's just not cool. Amazing how the interweb doubles ball size.
Also take exception to Buellers hating all HDs. I sure don't. I k ow we kid sometimes but I'm proud we have a US bike that's as popular around the world. I wouldn't not own one, although I'd only buy it used, so the •••••• CEO wouldn't recognize revenue for my purchase. |

Actually that sums it up quite nicely, I detest HD the company but I do kinda have a soft spot for some of the bikes, I might even be tempted that way one day... when my reaction times slow enough to make it an exciting ride..} |

Must admit I bought a CVO Fat Bob to add to the Buells, this was about 4 months before the plug was pulled by HD, I needed a bike that her indoors and I could cruise on, the 1125R is not that bike for regular pillion carrying and I had taken off the pillion pegs months ago.
Although I will never forgive HD for closing Buell and the loss of employment for the elves I hope Erik Buell Racing will one day get back in the business of manufacturing road bikes again, hopefully with all the lessons being learned at the moment from suspect alternator cooling, poor original fueling etc.
I will never sell my 1125R but there is a place in my heart for the Fat Bob as well.

The "Company" lost it's way years ago. However, I do thoroughly love my Dyna. I REALLY love my Dyna. But I also REALLY love my Buell. I feel pretty damn lucky to have both. |

Who decides what a buell is worth?
Quoting Australian prices, an 1125 retailed on road for $19990 mid last year. Then we were gifted with a choice of only having to pay $12990 for an 2009 or $13990 for the 2010.
So what if I only paid $14k for a $20k bike 4 months ago?. In my opinion, I now own a $20k bike(less depreciation). Nothing on that bike was downgraded to bring the cost down to $14k. I was just lucky to have the money at the right time!
Its the greedy dealers who are offering such low trade in values & the Buell owners accepting them who are setting a negative value to these bikes. Speaking to my dealer only this week he informed me that they are now selling used Buells for more than the firesale discounted prices.
And why? Because no more brand new Buells are available here in Oz!
Just wait a little longer & hopefully you should see the prices start to go up. |

There two different types of worth.
First, how much money someone will give you for something.
The other way of looking at it is how much money it would take for you to part with something.
It's supply and demand at it's simplest form when talking about resale value. Look at what muscle cars were going for in the 70's during the oil crunch vs what the same car is going for now. |

Guys, the best way to make yourself feel better is go out and buy another R or CR on the cheap. Dollar cost averaging the two bikes will let you sleep better at night! There. Easy. |

all together I bought 3 buells after the announcement. sold 1 cr to a friend, traded 1 CR on craigslist for a truck of equal or better value plus $1000, still have the white 2010 R. for now... lol |

yeah had a few. then decided i was going to keep it. could have made some $ on it but not enough that I would sell it. my wife tells me i am out of control. i have bought sold traded so many vehicles this last year. i think she is right. lol |

I am hoping the price of the bikes rise to a better value, but i would only care about that so i can sell it for a different bike. . though these bikes are so unique and awesome i would hate to sell it and only would because of not being able to afford a second bike, though i'm trying. . does anyone wanna sell me a dyna series cheap? lol |
