I would like to know which Saddlemen gel seat... Have folks who've voted viewed the Saddlemen's site? |

I'm not sure, but it sounded like it was something similar to the track seat with the channel gel insert. I believe this vote is for a direction and who falls where. |

Cravacor - Much of what has been presented here is on saddlemen.com. Learning about their 'gel channel' design and it's most compelling reason to own it made sense especially when compared to bicycle seats. 31% or 18 of 58 votes are in as of this post want the Saddleman gel channel. 1 Corbin and 1 Saddleman Comfort Seat. I vote for the Track version of the Saddlemen Gel. http://www.saddlemen.com/store/index.php?main_page =index&cPath=511_514_519 I think we should see if they will allow for any "custom" personalization to the seat for stature. Being inseam challenged I'd like to make sure it isn't too high. |

Danny, What I am saying is there are THREE choices among the gel channel seats. So, is everyone here that is "voting" for Saddlemen Gel choosing the Sport, Tech, or Track? My vote is for the Track. |

Also, would this deal being worked now include the matching pillion cover? |

The post that was taken down mentioned the matching pillion being included in the price. |

+1 If I had to get real specific, I'd prefer a dark colored material for the center channel. I also like the perforated material as shown here:

^ That looks great. My only concern would be rain saturating the seat. Looks awesome though. |

I just went for a long, hot, bumpy ride yesterday. By about half way through my manly parts and arse were hurting a fair bit or were numb. I am ready for a new seat! (Message edited by Cravacor on June 03, 2010) |

Good point Hogzilla. Maybe once a seat model gets nailed down, there could be custom choices for color and material within reason. |

Cravacor - Track, I don't know how this will work out. I am sure there will be some room for additional choices. I would assume a Pillion cover would also be an option. A_s_r - THX, |

Having not spoken with anyone at Saddlemen, let me ASSUME that the R&D needed for the 1125/XB seat is for the seat pan. Once that is done I, again, ASSUME that any seat style, color, flavor, etc. will be available. |

42% or 25 of 59 have voted. 1 Corbin, 1 Saddlemen - Basic, 15 Saddlemen - Gel, and 8 Saddlemen - Track - Gel. We are at 24 for Saddlemen overall, their minimum for a discount is 25 units. ----Summary---- Al stated earlier before he left for the dyno shootout that he had a line on NEW OEM seats for $50.00. The Saddleman unit is based on those seatpans. You can use one of Al's NEW OEM seats or your own. Saddleman gets the pan and does the rest. There was a previous mention of R&D and what that meant. I think the R&D is the human factor engineering, angle of the seat in relation to rider, bars, and pegs. Attack and touring angles, IDK. There are almost enough votes for Saddlemen but we have one problem, 3 styles. That might mean 3 R&D cycles and 3 patterns. To avoid that issue we need to agree that 1 properly engineered seat should be based on one design/pattern. In looking at the Saddlemen site the 'Sport' and 'Tech' style's use micro-fiber/cloth covers. The 'Track' style looks to be vinyl. If everyone wants Vinyl I will cast my vote as well and we will we have 25 for an order! THX P.S. Saddlemen shows 17 different 'flat track' seats for the XR750! |

This is going to get complicated, but I'm just looking for a seat that is like the firebolt seat. Now there is an option for gel, style, colors, etc. Either you have to stick with one 'take it or leave it' and see who bites (unless the MFG is OK with options on 25 orders). Having more than one option is going to screw up getting 25 people on board, IMHO. I'm still in if we can make everyone happy, but having been there before on other projects....good luck. I think you will hit your numbers if you put forth a simple black seat that mimmics the original comfort seat (gel or no) and offer it up as the only option. You either have a piece of factory plywood or this option, your choice. |

I will go with the majority, but it must have the channel. |
