Okay I remember seeing a bike on here some where and wanting to get some more information on it. I am a volunteer firefighter and volunteer medic in my little town and want to make some changes to my 1125r to give it some personal touch. Can anyone help me out with some part #'s or pics. Thanks Austin |

Being my bike is black maybe a white airbox, and probably would go with a set of the blue lights. I have led blue lights that I could mount, but it is alot bigger than I want to mount. I don't want a siren. I am usually pretty fast getting to the station(on call 24hrs a day 365 days a year). It would just be nice to have all 3 vehicles set up with lights. Yeah kinda redneck I know. I wonder what an 1125r would look like set up that way? |

After seeing the handguards that is what I want to go with first. |

The handguards don't clear the front fairing. |

Odd color choice (blue) for fire/rescue? And aren't there usually regs about also running a siren when rolling with lights engaged? Never heard of firefighters/medics needing to sneak up on a call. Even this model has red lights.

As per regulations here we are not to have sirens. We are allowed to make ourselves visible as by means of using only blue strobes. I wouldn't use this as a means to roll off to an accident. That's what the ambulance is for. |

No he wants what could have been the next incarnation which would have been the extended frame/swing arm, water cooled 1125XP (or the bike that might have gotten the CHP off the BMW's). |

There's a police concours model now that will likely get kawasaki back in the game in a big way. Read more on http://www.bikeland.org/board/ Maybe you should look at the light placement on the 1125 pace bike? Maybe just place some led's and their controller in the outboard running lights of the headlight assemblies. Same spot others have used for indicators after removing the mirrors. |

They more than have them laying around, you can buy one. They should be up on Erik Buell Racing soon assuming they got that supplier issue straitened out. |

Wow that pace bike has me a huge woody!!!!! Thank you for posting that. That is EXCATLY what I want. I wonder what lights were used. Can anyone help me on possibly what kind of controller could be used to strobe them? By the way the pace bike is now my screensaver. The Kawa is an awefully nice setup also. |

I saw four police bikes for sale at a dealer this past week. A little too high in price but would be a nice collector's item. |

http://www.swps.com/emergency-vehicle-lights.html Looks like they have pretty much everything you might need from light panels to strobe controllers. That's just the first link http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&client=firefox- a&rls=org.mozilla%3Aen-US%3Aofficial&q=led+emergen cy+strobe+lights&aq=0&aqi=g1&aql=&oq=led+emergency +strobe+&gs_rfai= |

Those police lights look like they could be easily converted into driving lights. Does anybody know if they are orderable parts? |

Assuming that you mean the big red and blue lights, that's a good question and they might work well for that purpose. They are way bigger than my Hella Micro DE fog lights on my car. |

I ordered most the cop parts and use various pieces. The best change I have made . . . at least considering the New York City traffic I ride in . . is using the Whelan TIR3 LED's in the handguards for turn signals. The cop bike uses red and blue which will promptly get you nailed (don't ask . . I've had it happen twice) so I went with amber in the hand-guard over the wimpy factory signals. I also use a red TIR3, mounted smack dab in the middle of my luggage about eye level for a driver (the stock brake light is buried under the luggage an barely visible. Anyway . . part of my "see and be seen" strategy. Considering that the "turned left in front of" is the most frequent consumer of less vigilant motorcyclists i wanted my turn signal to be an EVENT . . . not a wimpy flash . . kind cool to see folks across the intersection shielding their eyes on a bright sunny day. I also bought a bunch of other parts for the cop bikes that I haven't used yet . . switches and so forth just cause I wanted some that were specifically made for the Uly as I added crap. |

Correct, sorry I wasn't very clear. It looks like the red and blue lenses could be replaced. If not, probably wouldn't be hard to find a light that would fit in there. The mounts look cleaner than most of the other options I've seen, so am interested in what they would cost.

My thoughts exactly, sir. Although I was thinking of picking up the TIR3's elsewhere. So it sounds like they are orderable. Anyone have part numbers? |

There is a page in the XB Parts Manual for ALL the XP parts. The XP light bar, in my opinion, is not the best solution for mounting auxiliary lighting. The mounting gets a bit busy. Don't get me wrong . . . it'll work but the G.M.E. is a really nice solution. The TIRs's are the cream of the crop. I had all Whelan strobes in my old Ford SHO's and my last two F-250's and they are really tough systems. |

"They more than have them laying around, you can buy one. They should be up on Erik Buell Racing soon assuming they got that supplier issue straitened out. " Yeah....still not up. I quit waiting a long time ago and found a used race can for cheap. Plus that pic was from before E B R....that had to have been leftover stock or something? |
