I am going to change out my frame this summer, and i am going to have to remove the rear shock. I am wondering if the bike can be raised up enough to let the swing arm fall and decompress the shock? Also, I don't have the fuel pump removal tool. Has anyone removed the fuel pump without that tool? Or do i have to take it to my dealer? | ||

you can jack the motor up and release the shock tension. i threaded a bolt into the fuel pump and used a slide hammer to remove it. the snap ring was harder to get out than the pump, real strong tension. tim | ||

I jacked the motor up a touch to take the weight off the shock, then took it out by going up instead of going down as you would think. | ||

I just did it per the service manual, put a scissor jack under the muffler, jack it up a little & the shock comes right out, piece of cake. tip: I used tie downs on the front to stabilize to the garage wall. |
