I bet that smells good! Plexus for plastic bodywork and helmet face shields. Won a can at the last American Sport Bike BBQ and now I'm sold on the stuff! | ||

Yeah - I use the Plexus on the face shield - good stuff, the WD trick I got from a bunch of old timers and yeah the first five minutes are a tad fragrant but the rest of the week no smell and no rust - worth it to me, on the body - Armorall Ultra shine - wipe on then wipe off till dry and shinny - the part that takes time is cleaning the wheels - I wish I knew a fast good way - but I alternate - 1 week wd40, next week brake cleaner - but in the end they are clean - why couldn't EB show a little consideration to a beginner and give them Black wheels to not worry about - just a quick wipe down and you'd be done - ahh well - EZ | ||

I bought some Nexus 1 and 2 (really think I need some 3 as well) but I'm curious what you guys use to polish the silver paint? Mine has some black marks from the previous owner. Looks like shoe marks. Rubbing Compound? Swirl / Cleaner? | ||

When I was pulling the oil filter I didn't realize that the bike was on a incline and a fair amount of oil dripped onto the exhaust. What is the best remedy for this? | ||

Next time you start it, make sure nobody sees the smoke! LOL! Wipe with a rag and rinse with WD-40. | ||

This may be a dumb question but can you hose off the entire bike with a pressure nozzle or are there parts of the bike to stay away from? | ||

True! Also remember do not wash into the frame rails under the seat, the transmission vent is there and for some reason or other when you spray water there it fills the transmission with water. | ||

Nozzle is okay, pressure washer/pressure washing is not. You just want to avoid running it up the frame (as previously mentioned) and spraying it directly into the wheel bearings or carb. | ||

Hi everyone, first post so bear with me here. Just got a 2003 blast with a little over 3000 miles on it. Ive been cleaning it up, using Gunk for the engine, which works pretty well but it left a whiteish residue had to wipe off after it was all dry, would like to try something else. Ive also used a product called "Never Dull" which is like a fabric thing you tear off and wipe. It makes the metal pieces look wonderful.... until it dries and it leaves the worst residue ever. my main problem ive been having is getting the footpeg mount brackets (i think thats what they're called) clean. They have stains that look like gasoline or oil maybe, but nothing i have used seems to affect them the tiniest bit. What do yall do to clean this part of the bike? Any help would be greatly appreciated, it looks so nice except for that one piece on each side, which makes the whole thing look sloppy. | ||

Most peg hangers all have the paint rubbed off where your boot or shoe rubs against it. So the normally painted grey hanger now has rubbed down to what appears to be a black primer. Thats my best guess. | ||

As for wheels I got this gel like spray at Harley dealer I for get the name SA something or maybe that's the part number Ill look when I get out side. Spray it on the wheels, maybe old tooth brush for tough spots in crevices. but dirt just washes off. As for plastic I never got a chance to clean it and its so scuffed now, it looks like my bike went through desert in Mad Max. Got some new cleaners from Croftgate, gonna try those to see how well it cleans up. | ||

Anyone tried this before on the Buell Plastics? http://www.sisweb.com/micromesh/acrylic_plastic_ha nd_kits.htm I've seen the end result on windshields and it's undetectable when done right, but I wonder if the plastic for the colored body panels could polish as nice.  | ||

I just bought some find grain sandpaper and spent about 3 hours buffing out scratches on my plastic. Then filled in the tiny sandpaper scratches with the Novus #2 scratch filler and that worked pretty well. You could tell a tiny difference in the color, it was not as shiny where I had used the sandpaper. After multiple cleanings and waxing the bike, it looks absolutely wonderful!! It took a long time and my arm was super super tired afterwards, but it was defninitely worth it. | ||

On wheels I just tried a new product by turtle wax called Ice all wheel cleaner. It came with brush(too big for some places) but did fantastic after 8 months of sitting. Also used it on wifes front rims which were super cruddy and brake dust and crap just about ran off. John | ||
