Well I have been struggling with where to go in terms of modding the Uly. The XB9S and X1 were easy for me, and as with all of the sportbikes I have owned they started off with removing all of the excess plastic! The struggle with the Uly has been that some of that plastic serves a very good purpose! My 4 biggest hangups in terms of looks: mirrors, signals, rear fender, rear mud guard. So....#1 and #2 got addressed with a set of CR mirrors. I think it turned out well:  blinky shot:  I didn't know what to do with the rear fender, until I noticed that the City-X fender and belt guard were very similar in mounting location. I like how it turned out, and it still gives me *some* protection. Only took a little bit of cutting to clearance the rear shock:   Once my sidecase brackets get here, I'll get going on a tidy tail! | ||

Those mirrors look amazing- were they hard to fit on there? Did you get themfrom American Sportbike? | ||

I bought them from another BadWebber, but Al at Am Sp Bike sells them at a decent price. very easy to install- just swap the left and right bases, space them up with a few washers (not visible once bolted on) and bolt them down. No funky spacers, no cutting required. Make some wire extensions and you're in business! I'll post up a couple of pics of the bases tomorrow. | ||

Thanks. They seem a bit better than stock, but not too many miles with them yet. I'll report back in a while! They are a bit wider and larger glass, so better visibility. I really like the front fender! I scratched the beak up transporting the bike home, so I painted it black. I think I'll get a black TT beak and call it good. | ||

She is  Jon, you may notice that I repainted the frame and peg brackets. They turned out very nice- that Buell paint is some VERY good stuff! | ||

Here's the bases and how they line up once swapped. I realize now that there have been several threads asking about installing these mirrors, I think I'll do a quick write-up later this week as it will become a good place to point people to. Very simple mod.   | ||

Andy, Can't help but notice that you must of dropped that bike on it's left side. If you want to bend that clutch lever back to straight then all you got to do is remove it and clamp it tight into a bench vice. Heat it up with a propane torch, the type you get at the hardware store to sweat together copper pipes. Once it is heated up real well then bend it back slowly into shape with a pair of vice grips or slip a pipe over the ball end and bend it the way you want. If you try to bend it without heating it up it will snap off. It doesn't have to be red hot either, you don't want to melt it. Just as hot as that propane torch will get it. Cool it off with water under the tap. Spray with flat black rattle can paint and you are good to go. I've fixed both sides this way. One on my bike and one on my boy's ULY. Both drops were his doing. | ||

I really like those mirrors. Doing double duty as mirror and turn-signal is in keeping with the Buell philosophy. Nice way to cut weight and less clutter. | ||

Perhaps I missed it, what paint did you use for the fender. I think I like it. I have used Krylo fusion for my bags. Perhaps if I can I will post a pic. | ||
