USBA is a fine organization with many great people and especially if you want to do track days or eventually go racing and now we have MMP, great! Should be a great weekend also! East Canyon Update: Had to go into SLC today, went back the long way around. After a stop at Ruth's diner for a real great lunch we went over East canyon via Emmigration canyon. The road was all clear with no snow or wetness on any part of it. Some snow near the summit on the edges but not running across the roadbed. A few new blacktop patch areas but hardly any loose gravel. A few small rocks by the dam. I wish I had been on the Buell. A few bikes but not many. Lets do a ride there after the Miller weekend. See you all there. Next update will be Monte Christo pass probably sometime later next week. Stay tuned. Bob |

I have been playing around with this but frankly I think you all had better ideas then me. Of course I just made up the name UBR and the web address but you get the picture. I was looking for a good drawing (read that simple) to use but could not find one. Frank |

Me too Jeff. I like it a lot Frank. Simple, direct, and tells all you need to know. Besides it would make a great patch. Thanks much bud, you have been very instrumental in helping us get up and going. On another note I e-mailed Blake a couple of weeks ago but have not heard back from him on helping us get a logo header posted for the Storm fronts page. Thanks again for the help. Bob |

I think Blake, like all of us, are pretty busy. Glitch and Blake helped us with our logo and maybe any Custodian can help you out. I am not a Custodian so I have no idea what they do or how they do it but I am sure one of them can help out. I think we are going to have to get the Four Corners Buell riders together one year. Between AZ, NM, UT and CO there should be a lot of us... Oh, I did not really do anything, you are really the glue behind this effort Bob. I love seeing more activity out of Utah since the state has a lot to offer for Buell riders. I think I will be around Moab in late Jul early Aug but I will let you guys know beforehand. (nothing like hitting that area at the hottest time of the year. |

I'd love to ride to Moab, please let us know when you're ready for that trip. I like that design too. So has anyone had trouble with their bike on canyon runs? I ran up Big Cottonwood and the bike was great all the way up to Brighton, I shut the bike down and the fan cam on, hi then cycled to low and I decided to go so I started it back up. The engine light came on immediately. I thought maybe the bike wanted to run the fan longer, yeah I don't know anything about these electronics, so I shut it down and let it run the fan through a full cycle. Once the fan had shut off I started the bike again and the light was off, but came on less than a hundred yards into the ride. The engine feels normal and isn't making any odd noises. I thought maybe it was due to the elevation change but really have no idea what to do with it now. On a side note, that TT handles so well! I knew it did but it really puts my M2 to shame, and it pains me to say that. It's just wonderfully smooth and composed and feels much lighter on our mountain roads. Now I really want to get the M2's suspension rebuilt, not that I can afford it right now |

Sorry, I did it on my work computer and will not be going back to work for a while... I was just playing around in Power Point. I still want to find a better picture of some scenery... Frank |

Here is the picture I used.
This going to sound strange but I was looking for more of a cartoon type drawing or something simpler because if you all ever want to make a patch or other swag I think the less detail the better it will come out.....If that makes since.. I think the Arch is very identifiable with Utah..... (at least for me) Frank |

That's exactly what I was thinking Frank... |

Of course if a patch is made I think you will loose the definition but I think it will be identifiable. Frank |

I think that even just the outline of a basic landscape and the Arch itself would be more than adequate. A simple 2- or 3-color patch would be fine. Until we incorporate and take over the world... Muhahahahaha! |

Brandon, I'd love to check that. I'm off too, I can ride north mid to late morning. Frank, that looks great! I think the scenery could be a bit larger, just so it is more a part of the whole image. Got my Erik Buell Racing sticker for my truck; and my t-shirt and cd in the mail today, woohoo!! Now we'll see if the wife will have them on her car too (Message edited by littlebuggles on May 27, 2010) |

Woo hoo! More peeps! Cool! My plan is to get to the track and park the rig then get the bike out and hit the party in SLC. I'm not terribly familiar with the city, but I'll get there eventually. Mike, I might try to find you and yours if that's cool. I'm 801 seven four fiver fiver 1 two six. |

Jeff, here's the details I know of: Date: Friday, May 28, 2010 Time: 5:00pm - 9:00pm Location: Gateway Mall Alcohol is an unknown, but given the amount of people and the length of the event, I'd say so. Not I, though...too much traveling involved and drinking, large crowds and I don't mix well. I'll save that for the campsite. There's a parade led by a few SBK riders & riders leaving from the Capitol at 4:30pm but I'm not going to make that. |

It looks like it should be fun... "The SBK Gateway Kick-Off Party will feature an SBK Autograph session, James Toseland performing a piano solo, live music by Naked Eye, Rockwell Sky Divers, 50/50 BMX Stunt Riding Team, MMP Street Team Stunt Rider, and more." I'm gonna check it out, for a bit at least... |

Not sure about the sky divers as it's raining off and on. Kerri, you are welcome to find us, I've got your number programmed now. There's a few restaurants with bars, I doubt there will be alcohol sold on the street though. Big thanks again to Brandon for plugging my bike in again and helping me figure it out! Burnt fuse to the exhaust valve. Scott from the service dept at the Salt Lake HD was very helpful and told me how to test it, goes like this: Bike off, ignition off, kill switch on, throttle to WFO and hold it while turning the ignition on. The valve control cycled so it's okay at the moment. He warned me the same fuse runs the brake/tail light and the horn, so not only could it be related to one of those items, but if the fuse goes again I won't have brake lights so I should be careful not to get run over... Gonna ride trax downtown and meet the wife in 30min or so, should be there by 1715ish, call me or text me when you make it downtown. |

Oh yeah! Here's a link to the Uly page discussing building a ECM Spy cable. I couldn't find the cable locally but I'm still checking sources on the 4-pin connector: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/142 838/557627.html?1275082543 If anyone wants a cable I can put together a few more for just the price of parts, once I source the 4-pin connector kit. I'm into it $26.95 for the cable and shipping so far. |

Well, considering I just finished loading the bikes up (stupid rain) I don't think I'll be hitting that party any time soon...unless I can get down there with no more delays. Still have to get my clothes and other gear loaded up. I've got more than enough fuel to get there. Propane tanks are full. Will get food and water once I get there. I just want to get there and get set up! Mike if I get there in a reasonable amount of time, I'll hit you up. (Message edited by nightmare1 on May 28, 2010) |
