Yeah its just about as loud as the RT-3, HOWEVER because its a deeper, more awesome tone, it doesnt seem as loud. |

Maintaining the trilogy of tech. I like it! Could you give us your personal opinion of how loud it is compared to the Jardine, HMF, or FMF? |

Not as loud, but still too loud for my tastes. |

I can not comment on the HMF or FMF but it is not as loud as the Jardine. The Jardine is a higher pitched sound and probably DB level higher. This pipe has a nice deep, almost ducati sound. |

I almost forgot. Can you compare it to the Barker too? For noise level? |

How much is it? Froggy - if you don't have a loud exhaust it won't scare the deer very well in the weeee hours of the A.M. |

Barker with the quiet core is much quieter than the KEDA series pipes. Jasbiz66 - The only thing a loud exhaust will do in the weeee AM hours is piss off people. I've seen a pack of deer freeze up in front of a group of straight piped Harley's. |

Your bike looks really familiar. Unless there is another R with the R logo on the pod and the aftermarket Pegasus seat, then it's your bike that is my wallpaper on my work computer, except it was wearing an RT3. How do you like the RT2 compared to the RT3, and where did the RT3 go? |

www.keda-design.com to get one. There will be a price reduction for the polishing service, I will be subcontracting that out as of today. The above pics are the results. There will be a few days delay for polishing since I will be shipping it out of state to have it done. I can't answer the sound question, I haven't heard the Barker pipe in person. There's a bunch of videos listed in my profile of the various pipes available. I'd get the Erik Buell Racing ecm, although they're working on a custom tune for these pipes. |

E B R is working on a tune for your pipes, Dean? Sweet! What's the cost on the polishing service? (Message edited by thefleshrocket on May 28, 2010) |

Dean is it technically feasible to make the muffler longer to get more sound dampening? I see you like to make the can almost level with the ground, do you think that angling the can up and shortening the mid a little would allow for a longer muffler? I really like this particular muffler...the dual outlets are perfect, just concerned about being too loud. Thanks. |

I just got something in yesterday that I'll be playing with for quieting it down some. I have no idea if it will work yet. I've had one pipe really drag hard so far, it's being shipped back to me for inspection/repair/adjustment. Going with a shorter can will eliminate this at the expense of muffling. For the RT-2, I'd almost recommend going with a fake outlet on the left side. That gives it a 2nd small chamber for killing the sound just a little more. They all sound really good, but the RT-1 is the quietest yet without any real modification to it. |

most aftermarket exhausts are going to be in the region of 106-108 db@5k without baffles |

If the one that dragged is like the one in the picture I have a hard time seeing how it could contact the ground, looks tucked up there with a lot of clearance. Thanks for the answer D. I'm set on owning one of your customs. |

This version of the RT-2 is a direct result of the report about one of mine dragging. Most likely, they'll all go this route now. I took off about 2" of the can to shorten it for clearance. I do not want anyone to have an accident, especially from something I made. The only possible side effect from being made shorter is that it's just a little louder. I don't have the pics of it yet, but I've got some perforated cones that I'll be playing with. They need to be reshaped from the current configuration and then tested for sound and power. I don't want any kind of power loss at all if I can help it. On a side note, I've only hit mine once on a huge speed bump and it was directly in the center of the can. I guess I don't lean it over far enough to scrape, but from the measurements I had made before, it shouldn't have, even at full compression of the suspension. I will be doing a full inspection of the one that did. (Message edited by d_adams on May 28, 2010) |
