I'd love to go as well, I've gone repelling a few times before. But, as with Mark, I will be working. If you guys go on a Sunday sometime let me know! |

Well I guess you don't want to ride with just the top box bracket and box on. I went to reattach my side bags and when I took the seat off I found the right side seat frame broken in two! I was Stunned. Now I'm looking for a used one Tomorrow or trying to find a dealer with one in stock to ship to me asap since the weather is gonna be nice all week I don't want to drive my car.

Made a temporary fix. Took a strap and drilled 4 holes in it then used self tapping screws to hold it together. With the seat on you cant even see it.

Oh man! You have BOTH translucent colors??? NO FAIR! I considered something like this:
Also nice fix! I knew Buell won't sell the top case brackets unless you prove to them that you have the side case brackets because they need the extra support. I've never actually seen the consequences though. |

While I was supposed to be MCing around southern KY this past weekend, that fell through and I wound up doing Hocking Hills and up thru Columbus & back on Sunday. Awesome day. Hope everybody got out to enjoy. I passed a blue Firebolt(?) on SR56 around 5PM (I was on a white 1125R riding with a white Triumph Daytona 675). Anybody from the group? You would have likely just passed a GSXer who was pulled over for a speeding ticket (at the time it was a bit unclear who "the man" was going to ticket). |

Hocking Hills is fun, but the traffic and gravel tends to send me looking for twisty roads elsewhere. You'll get the gravel corners about everywhere, but the traffic can be avoided by staying away from the few main Hocking Hills roads (33, 664, 374). |

Rolling in to the office this morning I come up on another Buell, a grey XB9 Lightning it looks like from the rear. I couldn't get a clear look since he was in the other line in front of another car. We stop at the light at the corner of Maxtown / SR3 (Main St.) in Westerville. I tap the horn to get his attention. Bad idea. My freakin' horn sticks! And I just installed the Steibel air horn a few weeks back. So it's loud. Very, very loud. And it just keeps going. I "tap" the windscreen thinking that will unstick something. A large piece snaps off (wonderful) but the horn keeps going. The traffic light's still red so I turn the engine off. It keeps blaring. I turn the ignition off. Still going. It's like the freakin' Energizer bunny! Turn the engine back on, roll around the corner into a parking lot, take the seat off and remove the power from the horn. Ahhh..silence. I take the inline fuse out of the horn's power wire and re-install the wire so it's not dangling around. What a way to start the morning. So whoever was riding through SR3 on Maxtown this morning and heard the moron with the air horn blaring...yeah, that was me. *sigh* |

Does anyone have a stock Lightning flyscreen that I could try out for a few days? I've only ridden with the 4" higher sport touring flyscreen from Zero Gravity...and based on my reading this morning, I'm wondering if the stock size would actually work better. The larger one seems to kick air up at my head, and I get crap inside my helmet from time to time from the airflow. Before I order another one I'd like to try out a stock size. Anyone have an extra one that they're willing to let me borrow for a few days? (if I break yours, I'll buy you a new one...lol) |

lol - thanks Mark! Actually, now I think I'm going to dremmel the rest of mine off to keep it from becoming a guillotine to my neck if it were to break. That will make it the size of a stock one and I can decide which one to buy. |

If you turn left at that intersection and go by the big blue box, you'll see my bike sitting out front of the offices. I go by that way about an hour and a half before you do. |

Sounds like country directions -- "turn left at the large boulder, then go past the big blue box, then..." LOL! I'm guessing, coming from Centerburg, by left you mean East which would be towards Home Depot...so the offices on the other side of it, across from Worthington Cylinders? I'll keep my eyes peeled. Surprised I hadn't noticed your bike before. |

OMG!! A buddy just sent this over to me and it's damn funny! Maybe this has already hit the board elsewhere, but if not...take a look. You have to watch it until the very end to see the Buell tie-in. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=izzlN2zC8PU |

Did we lose a BadWebber? Lost a Bueller anyway. Cleveland lain Dealer on May 25th had an article that says Chris Schrecengost II from Medina was riding his "2009 Buel Thunderbolt 1200R" (sic) Monday afternoon about 1:16 pm when he drove off the right side of the road and hit a culvert. He was traveling west on Coon Club road east of Vandmark Road in Chatham. Anybody here know him and can give our condolences to his family? |

We *might* be there -- a Harley friend of ours asked us to tag along last night. If we do go, we probably won't be there long. |

I'm sure most everyone by now has heard about the article in Cycle World this month. If not, or if you haven't been able to find a copy, I posted information on our website on how to get a copy. This is truly enlightening and still only touches on what really happened behind the scenes to our beloved motorcycle company. The good news as I see it...sounds like Erik's non-compete is up in about a year. Maybe we'll see street bikes from him again soon after...here's hoping!! http://www.cobrabuell.com/2010/05/article-on-the-d emise-of-buell/ super-secret...there's a small dot in the bottom-right corner of this post on our COBRA website. If you click it...get a freebie surprise! |
