605m, and my Ignition fell off the 1125R. Both mounting bolts completely gone.... Whole ignition assembly was hanging by a wire... Wonder what else might fall off?

Fun fun....

Considering how much of a pain in the ass those bolts are to remove, I wonder if it was tampered with.

Well, I was taking it over for the first Service anyway, Service guy never heard of one falling off before. So I don't know.

Also, I've been getting Engine temps ranging from 255-265 while riding 65mph on an interstate. Is that normal? Frame got so hot that the Pegasus Decals that HD had put on the bike before they sold it to me started bubbling and peeling off.

Talked to service guy about the Instrument cluster fogging up on me when it's cooler out and he said he'd look into it.

Checked the ECM and I have the latest flash.

Showed him the puddle that was by my back tire where I parked outside and how much it was dripping. Explained it does that no matter how much fuel is in it. They already had a new Gas Cap for me. But he's going to look into the Cali Can under Warranty....

I'm thinking the bike is going to be their for the Better part of a month... Definitely no Memorial Day Ride.

260°F??? I sure hope that is a typo! It should be about 80-100 degrees cooler depending on weather/traffic/etc.

No, Not a typo. AT temp 125-137 Engine Temp 255 to 265, And again that's at cruising speed 65-70 MPH on an interstate. RPM in the 4k-4.5k Range.

Well, I'll keep this updated and see how it plays out... Today was the hottest it's been while riding. Put most of my 600M so far on in 65 Degree weather.

Sounds like you need a Witch Doctor to dance around your bike: it's possessed.

If the water temp was 255-265 F it would have been deep into skip spark/limp mode.

Not buying it. In fact it would have been puking coolant about 240F

Are your cooling fans on at 170F. Must be your temp gauge or sender mucked up. At those temps the engine would be just a cyl. head gasket, coolant sprinkler. WOW man how much can it take?

That temp is definitely not O.K.

Don't want to speak for Mike (Mavrick) but the bike's at Brian's in Langhorne, PA for diagnosis and hopefully not too intensive surgery.

Fans are working as they should, Coolant looked fine. But as Koji said the bike's at Brian's but they won't even be touching it until after the weekend. Will keep this thread updated as I get info..,

Ok, Jay at Brian's really cam through.

Engine temps due to a Defunct Engine Temp Sensor. Parts ordered. I was concerned about engine damage cause temps have been in the 230 range since the day I bought the bike. But they don't think their will be any problems. Would a dyno give me an idea of the Engines status? Or should I request a compression test? Or just go on his word. I don't know enough to make that call.

As for the fuel drip, Like I said they already had a new gas cap and he got MoCo to approve the Frame insulation. They're confident that between the new sensor, gas cap and insulation that the drip will stop. If not i'll look into the Cali Can.

Jay is also going to have Sales look into the decals on my bike and see about having them replaced. Since the temp issue is a direct cause for the peeling and what not.

It seems the Instrument cluster is a lost cause at this point. I guess they either couldn't replicate the issue or I don't know what to say to make it more of an urgent matter. Basically the cluster fogs up inside the glass whenever it's cool out and I can't read the cluster easily... I figure as it continues I can always bring it back.

I would want the tech to test the bike to see if the heat damaged anything internally. Not sure if a compression test would tell you enough. Oil analysis? My thought is that kind of heat might do bad things to any gaskets or other plastic/rubberized parts leading to mystery problems later on.

Had my ignition bolts coming out several times already. Had to finger tighten them on a near daily basis. Nearest Buell dealer is an hour away, and the local HD didn't have the right socket...

So, went to a Yamaha dealer and talked to the mechanic.
One Torx T-45 Tamper Proof Socket driver later, bolts are nice and tight again. Bought the same driver on the way home....

No, we're talking about the ignition assembly mounted to the top triple tree that the key goes into... It also houses the Tree Lock mechanism.

Mine fell out on the way home from work. Service guy said he never see it before. And that the bolts that hold it in are a PITA.

I can't imagine what would be a PITA about them, other than they are anti-theft bolts that require a special tool.

Oh...the T-45 w/center pin...

I got my entire set at the local auto parts store for under $15.00.

Last year the wiring harness broke loose inside requiring disassembly and soldering back to the internal pinouts.

I was surprised how easy/fast it was to take apart. A potential thief's dream assembly.

this may sound daft but have you checked your coolant level? Quite a lot of bikes have been delivered with low levels.

Coolant was fine. It's an Engine temp sensor cause the engine to run hot. I'm assuming it tells the fans when to turn on. I'll post part numbers and specifics as I find them out.
