All kinds of news.. well.. sort of.. first off, I'd like to say.. OW! MOTHERFRAKIN' sum bitch Yep, as you can guess.. I put my bike down. A couple weeks ago at Summit Shenandoah.. the second day of my first track days of the year... First day was on Main and it rocked. Heck, one of the coaches even had his student follow me around to see how smooth I was and what not. Such praise.. I was going well and all was right with the world as I even got some compliments on the way the bike would launch out of corners and some of the passes I made that were places where people didn't think one could turn like that and maintain speed to cut in and around folks. Well.. I did and it did and it was all really fun! The next day we were on Shenandoah... the MOST technical track on the East Coast and a real Buell / control track. It's said that this track doesn't forgive you very much. Yep, that is true. At the end of the day I was coming into the off camber left hand hairpin under the bridge and was a bit hot coming in, saw another rider on the inside and thought, rather then try to dump all that speed, I could hold my line and run around them, then cross over for the next turn taking it wide and I should be okay.. So much for quick plans... The rider went wide at apex and I suddenly was looking at a possible impact with them, so I tried to scrub speed while in the turn.. yeah, I know.. too much front brake idiot!! I tucked the front and got slammed to the ground at about 45 or so. I have sore ribs still. And the bike is with Mike Schultz at Frederick and it seems I'm looking at a little more then $2K in repairs.. I cracked the swing arm.. Yes, the NEW swingarm.. among other things.. Damn! This sucks! Well.. in case anyone was wondering where I've been or what's been going on... That's it.. so far. But as Mike put it, the good thing is I got my putting it down out of the way for the season, right? Oh man that sucked. Later.. |

Sorry to hear...but glad to hear you're just sore and that it was in a "controlled" environment. Any word from the rider who went wide? |

Blublak, which bike did you pay down? If it's the XB, I have an '03/'04 silver swing arm you can have for the price of shipping. I bought it a long time ago to polish...and have since sold my XB. Pellis or anyone else coming north this weekend for the Res Ride? Toona |

Sunday is Rolling Thunder. I think I'm going to Help down at the Pentagon with the guys from Custom Cycle. They will be there all day helping bikers with issues. Long but fun day, mostly electrical problems these days. But Monday is Race DAY! |

LOL! yep, leave it to bikers to help with the humor.. |

Hey for anyone who is or decides to ride in Maryland! Last year the state gov. issued a grant to the LEO's that targeted motorcyclist. They were looking for anything modified and type of helmets (mostly non DOT) and writing tickets. This year supposedly they are getting another grant, but it is to presue all LEO's to write tickets NO WARNINGS!!!!!! So becareful!!!! (Message edited by 1buell1125r on June 12, 2010) |

well it's been fun but I'm done. with Maryland I got accepted to BYU-I with direct acceptance into the engineering program. so off I go to finish my degree. I gave my 2 weeks on Monday so my last day is on the 21st, pack the truck on the 26th, head out on the 27th. I will pop in here to see how things are going. I do recommend if anyone has any Buell questions call Dereck at the Baltimore store. he rides a XB12STT (super tt) that he just got done converting over to a Uly, BY HIM SELF! he really has gotten to know the bike. |

Lars & Steward, Great ride today, real fast pace. Of course the best part was when the bicyclist passed us. |

Hey , I meant to do that,For those that missed out,we got passed by a guy on a bicycle, almost rear ended a blue-hair in a Civic because of a crazed squirrel, and I got an up close looked at the styling features of an F-250. All in all another fantastic ride that is going to get 40 miles longer the next time out. So the next time, if you can't make the ROMP-A-RONI,yer playin with baloney. |

Anyone going to Homecoming? Kim and I are going...but not sure on how to get there. Plan all along has been load up 2 bikes and drive it in a day. Now...we're considering riding out, leaving tomorrow (Tues), getting a hotel about halfway out Tues nite, and doing the rest of the trip on Weds (possibly including the Mackinac bridge, just 'because'). Anyone? I always feel better on long trips like this with a companion bike nearby... |
