Prior - I wish we could head to Franklin as well, but with the school issue it's just not in our future. Give everyone our best. We will be in VA the weekend after July 4th. Hopefully we can see you and Heather then! |

This school thing has Heather not being able to go as well- pretty ridiculous. July 4th sounds good, we'll probably be having a shindig at our place that Sunday, but will be free for the rest of the weekend to play in the mountains... |

Jim, I dig the anniversary color scheme too. You pulling that trigger? Honda, bumbling idiots that they are, brought the big VFR in at about $5K over market. Bring back the XX! |

Not yet! Doing my research, and dang these bikes hold their resale value. A used one same year with 27,651, yes almost 28000 miles sells for almost 6,000 dollars. The dealer wants 84 plus TTL, with optional 4 year warranty. I want the matching saddle bags to go with it so that adds another 8-900 dollars. There are a few on the VFRD board, but they are older with 30 + thousand miles, but look great. I am just looking for something that is comfortable to tour with, but still track day fun. This and the BMW's fit the bill. I dang sure cant afford a BMW at this stage!! |

No riding for me this weekend. Tires won't be in until Tuesday. Just noticed the steel cord showing through all the way around the rear tire. <4K miles. This will be my third rear tire in less than 8K miles. Switching to Michelin Pilot Road 2CT this time. |

Fish - I ran PR2's on the 1125R. Excellent grip for an ST tire and performed well in the rain. The PR2 front tire is real heavy though and will effect your handling. Turn in was very sluggish. I suggest a PR2 rear and a regular 2CT front. (Message edited by Spectrum on May 29, 2010) |

Good ride yesterday. Becky and I enjoyed the ride and fish camp. The S1 performed well all the way up yesterday evening. On the way home the air cleaner and elbow blew off. Not real sure exactly were it was at but if any of you see it on 11 or 258 let me know. Jimmy |

Had a great ride yesterday! Riding 230 miles on the Uly with Carlos is much easier than riding 230 miles on my own! It's been 6-8 weeks since I've ridden. Still learning something on each ride. I was tired when we got home. We had a great dinner last night with friends. Oldog cooked Lime Chicken on the grill and I made black beans and rice. Friends brought over tons of cheesecake and fresh fruits! YUMMY!!!! U4euh, Twig and Oldog - so glad you all came for the weekend. Love having everyone! Bishop and Becky - it was great seeing you guys again and having a chance to ride. Looking forward to riding again soon. 1313 - lucky you! BTW - love the shirt! U4 took some good pics. I'm sure he'll post up soon. Hope everyone has had a great Memorial Day Weekend. |

Well, at least I got out in my Jeep with the top and doors off for a little while. New rubber tomorrow and back on the Buell. Yahoo! Spectrum, I'll report back my impression of the handling. What do you mean by "regular" 2CT? The Power 2CT? The PR2CT set is ordered anyway. |

I was able to get out for a short ride this afternoon. Went riding with my neighbor's brother. We left Fuquay and did a lap of Shearon Harris- about 75 miles. We did cross paths with another ADV rider, so that was pretty cool. It reminded me that I still need to put C3/ADV stickers on the SV. |

Yes Pilot Power 2CT. I ran the PR2's for 3K miles on the 1125R. They work well. I just had to get used to thinking ahead on the turns and using a little more pressure on the bars. The PR2's still looked brand new at 3K miles. I donated them to a fellow Bueller here in Charlotte. He rides a STT and he's first comment after riding them home was "your right turn in is definitely slower with these tires". At 3K miles I went back to the Bridgestone BT-016's. Turn in was so much quicker. I've resigned myself to keeping Super Sport tires on the 1125R and Sport Touring tires on the Sprint. I'm now using the Buell for what it's best at, playing, short trips and trying to improve my cornering capabilities. The Sprint now gets all my high mileage riding. I'll be trying Angel's on the Sprint when the current tires wear out. |

FYI - while talking to my Chief today at lunch, I learned that J&E Harley Davidson in Winterville has been bought out! New owners from OH should take over soon. Not that they will be Buell friendly, but maybe the ownership and atmosphere will be more welcoming than it's been in the past. |

Spectrum thanks. I use my Buell for Daily driving and fun rides. But my fun rides are not knee draggers. So I may not notice the difference as much as some of the hard riders would. 8 mile ride home from the shop got out to about an inch from the edge scuffed. Sooner it gets scuffed the sooner the new tire feel goes away. |

J&E Harley Davidson in Winterville has been bought out! WOO-HOO!!! About time! Hopefully the new owners won't run it like they are trying to run it into the ground. Although as Kristi mentioned, it's not very likely that they will be Buell friendly so it looks like I shouldn't be as elated as I appear. It will be interesting to find out the background of the new owners, 1313 |

J&E Harley Davidson in Winterville has been bought out! Would be nice if the new owners were from Western Reserve Harley in Mentor, Oh. Very nice folks and Buell friendly. (wishful thinking!) |

"J&E Harley Davidson in Winterville has been bought out!" What happened to the 'irrevokable trust' that stated the business could only continue if it was passed on to one of their children? Hmmm, got that changed now that they realized they didn't have any children competent enough to run the business. Do they still have the store in Little Washington? Sorry, that was mean but my experience at J&E still ranks as the most bizzare work experiences I've had. Really curious who bought it. Cheers, Dave (formerly Ayden}XB9) |

Not sure who bought it other than someone from Ohio. Apparently J&E was only weeks away from bankruptcy. |

Another reason why "irrevocable trusts" should never tie up a family business. Pops probably thought they would sell it the day after he died. Well maybe they should have rather than trying to run something they had no interest or ability to run. And it would have been worth more to the estate compared to the fire sale price before bankruptcy. |

Speaking of Winterville anybody ever tried the BBQ @ Skylight Inn BBQ in Ayden? The Skylight Inn has good BBQ. We usually manage to get there a few times a month for lunch. If you're heading this way, let us know and we'll try and make a day of it! |
