I have been trying to diagnos a problem that has been haunting me ever since I got the bike and I thought I would clear it up by purchasing the EB Gas ECM, RT-5 exhaust and a K&N, Frame insulation for the boil, re-route the tank vent, de-noid and resistor plug in, TPS reset, etc etc. There has never been a code but my 1125r just runs like crap at low RPM up to 4500rpm. Pops, back fires, especially after it heats up after a 1/2 hr. I even had Harley put it on the dyno and try to diag with no success. Puts out a solid 125hp but even the tech says he thinks the low rpm crap may be related to the RT-5 exhaust, but I have a hard time believing that. Even idle (1700) searches around and is not right. Every one else raves about their bike running so great on the EB ECM, that I just have to keep looking at everything that I may have missed. Any ideas would be appreciated. Again, no error codes present. |

Sounds like it's running rich - better air filter? |

My bike didn't run that well with the first flash but with the 152 ran a lot better. I now have a Keda Design Rt-3 exhaust and an Erik Buell Racing ECM. Now the bike runs awesome. My guess is the exhaust. Have you tried the ebr ecm with the stock exhaust? Have you contacted ebr? When I spoke with ebr about ordering an ecm they mentioned your exhaust. It makes less power than stock and is really hard to tune. If you havn't contacted ebr i would and I'd put the stock exhaust back on to see if it runs any better. |

You might want to return the bike to stock to diagnose the problem. |

Bad battery would be the next thing I'd check, then spark plugs. |

Yes my next step is return to the stock exhaust. If no improvement, next to put the original ECM back in, it was given the latest flash when Harley had in the shop. Next, I believe it would be good to change out the plugs, hay, ya never know, it could be as simple as a poor plug. I will not give up> I love the bike, just can't live with it on the street. |

You said this was going on before the changes, what effect did the exhaust and ecm have on the problem? I'd still check the battery first. My 08 purchased new in Aug of 08 had to have the battery replaced before I could leave the dealer. If my bike is in my garage, it's on the battery tender, as these charging systems aren't great, especially if you do a lot of short rides and run the engine at lower rpms. Also check all your battery connections, grounds, etc. If that's all good, I'd suspect fouled plugs next. |

Battery has always been on a tender, but I am willing to try anything including new plugs. Cheap compared to the ECM, Pipe and filter. I will NOT give up until I get this sorted |

So your the one I've seen around Enfield, I'm in Stafford. I also saw on your profile you had an overheat issue at 50 miles, how hot did it get? Maybe that fouled a plug. I'm no expert but if you need some help let me know, I'm right down the road. |
