foggy, i've been buying stuff from modesto buell/ducati in california. they have the BEST service and stock lots of buell parts. i dealt with Deanna in parts, their number is (209) 578-1330. they ship promptly, and you should get your stuff within 3 days max. |

Clare's should have them in stock. There was a few set's there when I picked mine up. The kit I purchased was a sportster / Buell gasket kit. It includes every gasket you need. The metal ones that sit on top of the head, the rubber ones that fit between the rocker pieces, new umbrella valves, and the paper ones to be used under the top rocker bolts. I'm not sure about the aftermarket stuff. I know that Cometic is a good name though. |

Thanks Caboose, Kahuna. My misunderstanding re Cometic- I thought that was what you used. Trying to find/remember the name of the Buell/HD dealer my wife just reminded me about just east of T.O.(Whiby,Ajax?) Closer than Clares (IF they have the gaskets !) May yet be taking another scenic ride on Ridge Rd. ! |

Brett, This is a chance to grow. Embrace it with all that you are. It's a sign from God to become more involved with the machinations of the world around you. A chance to get your hands dirty and become one in the balance of all that is. Hey, stop wrinklin yer nose like that. Some folks pay large for this stuff. Jacox is to become (may already be) a Buell dealer. They may have the parts you need. Ommmmn Ommmmn Ommmmn. Lornce

Have the gaskets at Mackie Buell/HD in Oshawa-newer dealership. Will pick up tomorrow. What's the group consensus: do both rocker boxes at the same time, or could the other one last for years ? Going to try to glue my leaking oil tank at the same time. So far find the bike easy to work on- good access. Thanks for the manual Kareem, a big help. Any chance at picking up that handlebar from you in the next few days- might as well do that too ! Lornce: Jacox to carry Buell in 2004, nothing till then. Tried. Hands clean after working on Buell ! Need to ride longer with oil leaks, like Satan ! Cheers, Brett |

The kit comes with gaskets for the front & rear rocker boxes. I would do them both now. Otherwise your tempting fate. Nothing would be worse than having your rear rocker start leaking after the bike is all buttoned up. Before you put the rocker boxes back on, don't forget to pour plenty of oil over the rocker arms etc. Also note the motor will make a bunch of valve train noise on the first start-up after the repair. The lifters take a minute or so to "pump" back up. It scared the hell out of me.....thought I left a wrench inside or something! |

Boys, I am heading across to East Troy for the 20th and leaving the island of Newfoundland on August 16th. Meeting up with Spidey from Ann Arbor at Thunder Road Harley Davidson in Windsor on August 18th. If anyone is interested in meeting to ride with me across Ontario please e-mail me for details. I am also heading back around August 23rd and can stay in the Toronto area for a day or so if anyone is interested in riding a bit. Take Care Bill (Newfie) |

Hey Newfer, Perhaps we could all get together in Toronto on your way back? If you've got a day to spare, I'm sure we could give you a guided "tour" of our favourite local riding roads. Dr. K's usually got lots of enthusiasm for such things.... Lornce |

Brett et al, Saw Jacox H-D Buell from the 401 the other day and couldn't help but notice the prominently displayed Buell signs on the building. Anyone talked to them to see if they're actually in the Buell business yet? Lornce |

Lornce: Jacox to carry Buell in 2004, nothing till then. Tried. What's happening with the Airheads Moose ride weekend of Aug. 23-24 ? Is it still on ? I may be able to get the time off to participate. Cheers, Brett(busy turning a one hour rocker box gasket job into a 2 week ordeal !) |

Brett, Plans for the The Great Northern Moose Dodge (or as Cooper calls it, the "I know Where Pakistan Is Ride" continue to gel. I'm thinking to meet Friday night 22nd in Tobermory, take the ferry to Manatoulin the following morning. Ride back down the Sudbury - Perry Sound Hwy #69 route Monday the 25th. Still remains whether we stay in a lodge on Manitoulin or camp out. Must chat it up with the Airheads and get an idea of consensus... Just re-read Newfies note and hope he sees this before planning to meet us in Toronto.... best, Lornce |

Photo in TV magazine caught my eye- female on a Lightning. Info from article-Canadian debut of "Witchblade"..."about an NYPD homicide detective who wins bloody street battles using a gaudy bracelet that supernaturally becomes a glove with a 3 way lethal weapon"...and I guess she rides a Buell. Sounds like trash but may be the only time to see a Buell featured in a TV show...Friday at 8 pm on Drive in Classics (whatever that is...) Cheers, Brett |
