Hi everybody! I'm new here so be gentle. I recently got a blast from a co-worker and I love it! after doing some research on this fantastic site, I've come up with a plan to modify my blast- got a couple of questions though:
1) want to rejet my carb with a 50/175 combo: is this too rich on the pilot? would i be able to adjust the a/f screw to make it acceptable?
2) i already posses a carbon fiber yoshi pipe and was thinking about modding up a custom 1-off deal to mount it where the stock one goes- think i can get away with that?

Jnote,
Sounds like questions for EZ, Swampy and gearhead. Glad you are liking the Blast and welcome.

48 might work after the pipe is installed, but 45 would be better.

Jets are cheep, approx $3.00 and can be found at every bike place. The carb is a Keihin CV 40mm carburetor and is used by a lot of bikes and manufactures.

the main purpose of the a/f screw is for idle a/f adjustment.

Josh! You guys are good!

If you have a stock pipe drill a 1.5 inch hole on the opposite side of the stock muffler from the stock outlet, cheap noise, it shortens the exhaust tract a little.

However, any other exhaust set up easily weighs 1/3 of what the stock muffler is, so anything would be improvement weight wise verses the stock. I think they built it that way as a good bash plate for the engine, possible for future use on the Griffen(Tounge in cheek)

thanks guys, i'll get a 45 jet for the slow and upload some pics when everything is done- might be a couple weeks b4 i get to it- no clue what a custom pipe to the yoshi is gonna run so i'd like to be prepared for the worst. i wanna put it on for weight reduction (about a 3 lb pipe), so i'm not gonna drill the stock out (yet, anyways). ride safe!
