Hey guys.. found a nice looking Millenium Edition and am going to go look at it this weekend. I've missed having an X1 ever since I sold my first one...so i'm hoping this thing is as nice as it sounds. 18,000 miles on it, anything I should be weary of? Gray |

Someone asked the same exact question a while ago so may want to look for it. But if you have owned one already you should have an easier time to assess the condition of the bike. When I bought my X1 (on the spot) I had only heard of Buell brand once or twice before and had not even seen one in the flesh. I rode it right to the local HD/Buell dealer (of course after I paid for it!) and they checked it over and couldn't find a fault with it except for a leaking started gasket (which was obvious if I had looked at the right spot). Several thousands of miles later, with all the help from this site, this bike has been the best purchasing decision I ever made. I do constantly lust over having a cruiser style bike mainly for its looks but I just can't see myself giving up this bike. My only advice is to make sure the bike has not been abused and the person selling it is/was as passionate as you are about it. All the best. |

I wouldn't fear the miles. My first 20,000 were rough. it was in the shop every month! After that, the next thing that failed was at 40,000 and that was only a primary gasket. Sounds like someone worked out the bugs for you |

hey guys, You know, when I got my first X1 it was my first bike, I learned to ride on it, and I wasn't sure I liked it...fast forward 2 years and an MSF course, i've test ridden a ton of bikes, mostly of Ducati heritage, and I couldn't quite find one I really liked. Well...when I test rode the Millenium Edition today I felt like I was "home" on the bike I originally thought I didn't like. Needless to say, I bought it...and I'm still grinning ear to ear. It came with a vance & hines pipe, race ecm, k&n filter, a service manual, and an extra set of plastics(and the chin fairing which isn't installed at the moment). The only issue I had on the 80 mile ride home is my brake light is working intermittently or not at all. I'm guessing a loose connection or a wire loose in the home brew fender eliminator kit the p.o. did on the bike...once I get that sorted i'll be riding her as much as possible...man it feels good to be on a Buell again. I'll have some better pics tomorrow guys #178 of 800 Thanks Gray
