Spousal unit looked at Versys and WeeStrom. Rode both, purchased wee Strom. Everything I have read the Wee strom is darn near indestructable. Maybe my next bike, if not KTM S-M. |

My wife bought a new, Kermit colored Versys in February. We took a 1900 mile trip, a series of day rides and lots of errands to get to 4100 miles. Me on my 06 Uly, her on the Versys. I installed on the Versys a Powerbronce tall smoke windshield, oxford heated grips with a dashboard mounted "warm-n-safe" heat-troller (The Oxford Heaterz heat-troller is a piece of unreliable c..., toss that, the heating elements in the grips itself are outstanding), MotoWerk 1.5" lowering kit for the rear shock, black Acerbis flag handguards, power outlet for her Tourmaster Synergy heated jacket, a relay for the 12volt accessories, a SW-Motech rear rack for the great $32 Sears medium top-box. What can I say, she loves the bike! The Versys is very nimble, low center of gravity, fast, corners almost as well as my Uly, plenty of power when you keep it wound up. In the twisties out of a corner where you hit the end of the (very narrow) powerband on the Uly and need to shift she will close easy on me because of the wide powerband and agility of the 650. The Versys feels like a 350lbs bike, but is only just lighter than the Uly with greater range. Excellent brakes with ABS too. Great bike for the price, tons of fun cornering, able to go 80+miles sustained on the highway comfortable, even does gravel as well as my bike. So far no complaints. Turn the key, start her up and the Versys takes you wherever you want to go. I really would consider one for myself if it where not for that ugly front-fairing-headlight-snout-thingy. (maybe I could mount a Ulysses headlight-flyscreen on it? mmmmmh! ) |

Im liking the 2010 Kawasaki ER6N same powertrain as the Versys but more of a naked model. |

My brother just bought a Versys and loves it he had a V-strom and got rid of it. I just didnt like the V-strom because of the looks. I know its a good bike I just cant stand to look at it. The Versys looks like a mini Uly especially if you changed the fairing to uly. |

I think that there was a Ulysses at Kawasaki Headquarters when they drew up the plans for the Versys. It looks like a Uly's little cousin. |
