You can disable it using the ECMSpy or TunerPro program. |

I was going to say the same thing, but the bike is carbed. It does have an ECM, but I do not know for sure if the BAS is tied into the ECM or not. |

If I knew what firmware was in the ecm I could look on the ECMSpy guide to see. If its a DDFI ecm it can be disabled via ECMSpy. (Message edited by terrys1980 on May 20, 2010) |

It sounds like a couple metal balls in the box and I may buy one and take it apart to see how it works. |

I need to do the same thing on my XB12X and my version 1.12.1 of ECMSPY I did not see that, unless I missed a tab somewhere ? |

I would consider finding ECMSpy 1.12.27. If you can't find it PM me.

But why disable it in the first place? It is intended to be a safety feature. |

Stewart133, click on the View menu and make sure you are in Professional mode to enable all the tabs Kalali, not knowing the OP's situation, he may need to disable to troubleshoot a running issue. Also most racers disable it and remove it on track bikes, last thing you need is the bike cutting out on you tossing it hard into a turn at a buck 20 |

Kalali, I just wondered for trouble shooting or if it goes bad during a ride. Why do so many seem to jumper the side stand switch? And I know it will not work if you just unhook it. If no one really knows how to do it on a carbed model it would be a nice tool for the Knowledge Vault. Thanks. Oh, and my side stand switch and BAS are still hooked up. Also I think it has 3 contact points inside it and a metal ball that MAKES all points then if it leans to far the 3 contacts OPEN. I just cannot justify taking mine off and cutting it open YET. |
