This might be kind of long, but I have got to vent!!! The middle of March I ordered a set of wheel bearings for my bike as I was replacing the tires and was getting some kind of strange wobble. A week after they were supposed to be in I called and they hadn't even been shipped and wouldn’t be for another week, and they weren’t even on back order!! That wasn’t going to work and I let the parts guy know it. He called around and got the front from Florida and the rear I think from Bumpis and had them overnighted. I took the bike in on the 2nd of April and had them installed along with my new tires. After 5 hours of waiting I finally got the wheels back and was on my way home. I installed the front with no problems and was just finishing up on the rear when I noticed the arrow on the tire pointing to the rear of the tire..WTF!! Then I notice the 4 gouges from the tire machine clamps, by this time its 3 am and I’m in a real bad mood because I was going on a ride in the morning. I took the rear back to the dealership and called them on the way to tell them I was coming and why. The changed the tire to the right direction and ordered a new wheel. I thought ok not too bad and waited for the wheel to come in. I have an 06 X and they ordered the 10 wheel, COOL!! No charge for the upgrade!! Now I'm happy, until I was on my way home from work last night. I started feeling a strange intermittent click/crunch feeling in the handle bars. I babied it home and started investigating. I can reproduce the sound with the bike on the jack, and it feels like its coming from the from bearings. But its intermittent. I have less than 1k miles on these bearings. The only thing I can think it could be was improper installation of the bearing in the front wheel. I followed the book for wheel instal and torque specs. |

Or it could have been a bad bearing... not dealerships fault. Anyway, sounds like they have taken care of every issue you have run into. I would be happy if they were my dealer as most dealers wouldn't do crap for you. |

Wow! Sounds like you have a great dealer! You got a 2010 wheel! "Dealership frustration"? I don't get it. Focus on the positives. (Message edited by buellerxt on May 21, 2010) |

This is the third or fourth example I've heard of dealers putting the tire on going the wrong direction. My 06 is getting a new rear tire and bearings as we speak, and they're putting a new front rotor on...still waiting for the delivery on that. And yes, they found the original rear bearings to be toast (15,000 miles). |
