Steve, We were just in Jamaica lastweek at an all-inclusive resort. They had free wedding services. Tried to convince her that we should do it that way. Didn't work! Your exactly right! For the price of a wedding we could do this! (picture of Heather and I in the wedding hut) And then I could still afford to purchase this!!! I really thought it was a good deal! Unfortunately women don't seem to have the same priorities!!! Keith |

Well Keith, once she has a chance to ride the bike, maybe she'll enjoy it! Surely a test ride could help sway her. The ergo's should fit her quite well and women do have faster reflexes and better eye-hand coordination... Oh ya, I rode to work! What a grand treat on a sunny day. |

Ok, slabbers...we're planning a trip to Eureka springs to visit the iron horse stables place on Sept. 19,20,21. We'd be thrilled if you fellers met us down there on Friday night to share some stories and a few beers Frank |

Oh Josh!!!... Subject: FS: 2003 FJR1300 Sport-Tourer - 3K Miles I've had this bike for about 2 months, and put on about 1,000 miles. Perfect condition. I added a 5 year Yamaha Extended Warranty, which is transferrable and good through July 2007. Includes stock and 2 aftermarket windshields. Otherwise all factory and all perfect. Previous owner bought at and had 600 mile service at Midwest Motorsports. Next service due at 4,000 miles. I'm posting here because I know you guys know about this - maybe you know somebody who wants one but forgot to get their order in (FJR's are sold on a pre-order basis only). This thing is seriously fast, and cruises comfortably at 110 (I've heard). I'm coming off a 'busa though, and I guess I just wasn't ready for a sport tourer. If you are interested, you can email me at spamthis@starband.net or call me at 618-604-1591. Located in the metro-east. Dave

Well, I made a list of things I want in a bike, the things I want to do on the bike and how I might get there and came up with: a) go through the S3, Traxxion forks and Penske shock, and make sure everything is up to date and in spec. $1500? b) Aprilla Futura + blurry glasses so I don't have to look at it. $13,000 The FJR is nice but since I do 80% commuting solo, 15% sport 2-up and 5% distance 2-up I don't think the FJR is what I'm looking for. 'course maybe I need to ride one. Now if only it had quick change bars (to clip ons) and removable fairing to go with the removable bags... |

"The FJR is nice but since I do 80% commuting solo, 15% sport 2-up and 5% distance 2-up I don't think the FJR is what I'm looking for." Uh, I think the FJR would do all of those things pretty well...Just not as good as a purpose built bike for each one...Commuting, it's got hard bags to carry your stuff...Sport 2-up, and long distance 2-up, well, it will get you there and be ready for more aggressive stuff when you arrive...It's not a pure commuter like, maybe, a SV650...Or a long distance hauler like a GL1800...Or a sport bike like a R1...But that's what I like about the "sport tourers", they kinda do it all...I had the top box off the ST13 at Deal's Gap and it handled great...Ran into a whale of a thunderstorm coming up Lookout Mtn out of Chattanooga and I just raised the screen and rode...The high speed weave is gone now that the tires have worn down a bit and it looks like the Avon's are going to go farther than the 6,000 mi I was getting from 205's, 220's and 020's...I did about 835 miles coming home as I rode down into N Georgia before turning for the barn and I now know I have to do something about the seat before heading for Montana next month...I met and spoke with two riders entered in the 2003 IBR and another who is wait listed...They were all just out putting on (s)miles in preparation... One last thing...The reason I bought my first Buell over a Ducati was the much larger dealer network...I figured that even if I broke down and there was only a H-D dealer, I might be able to get help...That would still be my knock against the Futura over the ST13 or FJR13...Tons more piano and red rider shops than pasta joints... See Ya! Bob |

Yeah, but it's 100+lb heavier and it looks to be impossible to test ride before you buy. I bet I'll talk and talk... and stay with the S3. |

No, we haven't, Bob....trying to get a better idea of approx. head count. Plus I gotta figure out who's gonna want to sleep where. I'm all for saving at this point, so the huts or camp ground for me... The concert KICKED MAJOR ASS We got outta there at about 11:30. Of course they were doing road construction on I-70, and had all the lanes choked down to 1. Took us an hour to travel 5 miles at one point. Is it illegal to "nudge" construction barrels with your car because of boredom??? I really appreciate the unused hospitality though, man. I figured it was a lil too late to come barging in and demand some more beer

I'd sign up Franky but that's right at my AF to silly-villian transition time. The best I can do is say I wanna go. My 20 (yes TWENTY) years is up and they are letting my skill set (no ...not professional slacker) out of the AF. By the way...Went to Deal's Gap with Racerboy, V2Win and a few HSTAers. Fantastic riding and no rain!!!!! I went to SC and came back through north GA. Talk about more terrific roads! Holy shiet! And the Fontana's resort "fine dining" sucks BIG time. After waiting 25 minutes just for tea/water I spoke to the manager and told her in a polite way it was pathetic and dissapointing. Nice enough gal but no sense of management/supervision. DAve |
