i no alot of people over look it as me being one of them, but i would like to tune my bike for me and how i ride. i was doing some googling and found a chart on how to set the preloads and all that stuff but im not very keen with all that is there kind of a simple way to get ur suspension right for u, for the less knowledge crowd, if that makes sense. im very down to learn, i just need a patient teacher. |

Going by the book is probably the simplest way. Unless you can ride and understand what the bike is doing or not doing during certain situations such as heavy braking, entering corners or exiting corners. Do you have the owners manual? (Message edited by terrys1980 on May 18, 2010) |

There is also a suspension tuning guide on xopti's website. Its not Buell specific but it has tons of info. http://xoptiinside.com/misc_buell_info |

+1 on that Sportrider link. I've been looking for a good introductory article. It convinced me that the dealership didn't set the bike to good defaults. Time to go screw them up myself! |

Migs16, how much do you weight? I'm 140lbs so the setup from the book or anywhere else does not apply. Especially the general stuff that apply to all bikes. What finally worked was I took it to the man who setup bikes for racers who weight even less than me, and he said you can't go by what's recommended if you're under 150lbs. And what a different it was! It was like a new bike. He's in Livermore CA but I'm not sure I can post his link here, so PM me. Christopher |

You actually need to measure sag directly. IF you can't get 35mm in front and 25mm in rear and you're light - then it means you need lighter springs. |

koko, you're the first person i've heard say good things about the scg suspension. op, if you have stress still, get in touch with some local roadracers and trackday guys, find out who they use, and for right around $50 somebody will set the sag, and all the clickers for you. there's gotta be a few reputable suspension shops in ca. |
