Got it installed and fired it up with the Keda RT-3...Everyone is right, it dropped the db's AT LEAST 5db.. Sounds alot deeper and smoother, and i never even took it out of the garage...

Rain Box time, then out for a ride!!!

Oh, i did notice in Diag Mode that it threw just about every code in the book! I hope thats normal untill it clears itself.

OH, BTW, NO COOLENT...Jeez.. Good thing i checked it. Not only does it drink fuel, but coolent as well.

Ian, check the weep hole on the right case just behind the rear exhaust header. It will leave a small trail down the case if it's leaking or weeping.

got am email back from them!

the sales guy said mine had already shipped but he has contacted UPS & is trying to have the package diverted back to them so he can swap in the HMF specific ECM. according to him the 'generic' pump gas one will work just fine, but they found a bit more peak power with the HMF specific calibrated ECM.

GREAT SERVICE Erik Buell Racing!!!!(ha ha...killed the link)

i take delivery of my 1125R at the end of this week or first thing next so i am in no rush & will wait for the HMF ECM.

Put about 40 miles on today and its now alive!!! The only thing that i got to get used to is there isn't as much engine breaking. I didn't really run it hard so i got no top endish news.. Its pulling like a freight train.

The Erik Buell Racing race ECM is by far the best aftermarket product from any source I have fitted, can't recommend it enough, I have about 600 miles on the bike since fitting it and couldn't be more pleased with the result.

The following is from Michael at Erik Buell Racing -"Adaptive Fuel Value (AFV) will remain at 100 100, though instantaneous “feedback fuel” will make Air/Fuel adjustments based on input for the 02 sensors. This way when you key on every time, the base calibration is always constant. Having a baro specific sensor on the 1125 allows this approach to work well."

So I've seen posts that imply the race ECM does not come with instructions. I've seen a variety of posts on what needs to be done to install it - ground disconnect, bank sensor disconnect, TPS reset, cluster "pairing"...

Here's what I know (the service manual says it):

- Disconnect battery ground
- Replace ECM
- Connect battery ground
- Key on then off to "initialize"

Can someone comment on any necessary additional steps for a US spec bike?

Tx.

Just got back from a test ride with the Erik Buell Racing Race ECM. Amazing difference!
Smooth fueling in the lower RPM's and strong pull all the way to the top. Exhaust note even sounds different. Absolutely stoked!

PS guys--I found out the FMF and HMF (and probably the upcoming Jardine) Erik Buell Racing ECMs are sent with stock idle and engine braking settings, so if you are wanting to go with the higher idle and/or reduced IAC engine braking, you should specify when ordering your ECM.

Have a few hundred miles on the ECM now. The low speed bucking is almost gone. I can ride below 20 mph now with one hand. Before it bucked too much.

It runs a little cooler.

No loss in mpg from what I can see. But I got really bad gas milage before.

IMO, it's the best investment you can make in the 1125. The race ECM will make whatever else you do with the bike that much better.

HUGE thumbs up, and my thanks to Erik Buell Racing!

So, my ECM has been on my living room the last two days, ugh.. I get home so late that I have to wait until this weekend!

I have a question for the ECM owners, have you guys noticed any difference, improvement after riding a couple of hundred miles of installing the ECM? Basically, does the Erik Buell Racing ECM learn? : )

Hey all, I'm late to this party. Does anyone have any before and after dyno plots/results?

Thanks

Is there any way possible to be more impressed with this bike? I mean ... holy crap. I thought it ran well before the upgraded ECM ... wrong. Pulls hard all the way down to 2,000 RPM with NO bucking or back talk!! Silky smooth like a baby's butt!

It did quiet down my uncorked Barker's a bit which is nice, and dropped the idle down a couple hundred RPMs. Most noticeable difference is midrange pull between 4-6K RPM, but honestly I didn't get the wring it out above 7K on my ride home due to wet pavement. Also, as noted previously, there is almost NO engine braking which I didn't think I'd like but I kinda do. Jury's out on that one but I think I'll get used to it. Absolutely no pops on closed throttle decel as well.

No error codes, and still 100/100 F/R fuel correction after my 40 mile ride home. All I did was disconnect the negative battery terminal, take out the stock ECM, plug the EB-Arrr ECM, reconnected the battery. Then reset the TPS, and start up. Perfection. : ) Big smiles from this guy.

What are the common "tweaks" to suggest? After this thread (and all the others), I'm seriously thinking about ordering one...

Lowered idle (1200 RPM) - reduced charging at idle but sounds sweet?
The IAC engine braking tweak - you can get increased engine braking as a request? I mostly use engine braking when coming down from speed on offramps, so keeping this would be nice.

Anything else I should ask for in order to get MAX_AWESOME?

Croger u're gonna love it. U're gonna take off and crack it to redline and just smile ... It's bliss. And it actually beefs the Barker's bass up a bit ... Sounds fantastic with the fatter fueling.

Ok, no rain... 80+ extra miles this morning : ).

How can I explain this ... I do understand why this is a race computer, it makes the bike soooo much smoother!! I found myself not needing to downshift to turn, because is so much smoother and the throttle control is extremely easy! I am sure anyone can ride faster with this ECM!! More power? Not sure.. more usable power? Guaranteed!

It transformed the bike, totally! I didn't take it higher than 8K but you can just keep the bike that high all day long if you want! I have to honest, I REALLY like the lack of engine brake, I like to control my braking with brakes, I am enjoying riding the bike even more than before. Again, if you expect 10-15 extra horses? I don't know about that, its the way the bike rides what has been transformed.

Again.. thanks Erik, this bike is staying with me for the long run!!
