OK here is the deal. I got the bike out tonight for a nice ride. When i started the bike up it was running for a few minutes. When all of the sudden down it goes on its left side. My guess is that kick stand was not fully straight and the bike fell over. There was no damage just my pride for being a jack ass. My question is what can i do to make sure it will not happen again. I am very gun shy now about the bike going down. Any help would be great thanks.

You don't want the kickstand to be straight, if its straight it will vibrate off it. When you put the bike on the stand, pull the bike backwards as it settle. This will angle the stand forward and it won't fall off at idle unless you are pointed down hill.

Also, idle just wastes gas, so keep it to a minimum : )

Be very careful ever leaving a buell running on the kickstand by itself. Very touchy! I watched a bike vibrate itself right down the driveway once... IT was cool to see, but I wouldn't recommend it.

A bunch of us have learned that lesson. If you're not on the bike it should not be running. Most of us got a little damage to our bikes in addition to our pride!

yeah, i have done the same thing, it almost makes a guy sick to his stomach,
+1 on the tug back when setting it on the stand, after a while it just becomes habit, well after the first time anyhow, i wish they would have done something like harley that when the bike settles on the kickstand it locks so it cant move.

Oil pumped into heads returns via push-rod tubes & gravity, right?
Idling on side-stand builds temporary oil puddles in rocker boxes.

Engine idling is negative energy.
