So today I had my 04 XB12S cut out twice. First time I took off the sprocket cover and found a loose connector. Then, after riding another easy 3 or so miles, it just randomly cut out as if it wasn't getting any fuel. I turned ignition off, and let it prime the fuel twice. Started right up, and rode all the way home. Noticed quite a bit of decel popping and several pops that were more powerful than most. Jardine exhaust problem, or fuel mapping problem? It has almost 18K miles, so maybe something is starting to wear out? Any ideas are welcome, thanks. |

I had the same thing happening last week. I found two items - Loose positive battery terminal - Bad/loose plug wire at the coil for the rear cylinder. Check those. Hope it helps... |

Could also just be a fouled plug from all the starting and stopping |

I had a similar problem with mine...after it quit and wouldn't restart, I found that the wiring harness where it comes around the negative battery terminal had worn thru. This caused the power wire to the ecm to momentarily ground...at first the contact was not long enough in duration to blow the fuse..and resulted in erratic and intermittant misfire... |
