Kerri, Karen, the pup and I are going just in our SUV to check it out and get a burger at Hanna's cafe. Kinda of a scouting venture but thanks much for the kind words. You will really like Wolf creek if you have not done it before. Kinda like Trappers but for 20 miles. Nice long sweepers with some elevation changes. Perfect for a Buell superbike. Break at Hanna's cafe and then a nice return. Great! Total miles from here; 101 each way. AMA Superbike was a small disappointment but Geoff May started 11th, fell back to 21st and then worked through the field quickly and finally finished 12th. Not bad against all the superbikes. DSB IS crazy and our old rider Danny Eslick still looks like the one to beat. He rides his a** off. Best racing going. Almost time to head out. Later, Bob |

Well guys and gals, it'll be a while until we can do Wolf creek pass comfortably. Plows left some berms up to 10' high near the summit where I could not get a picture. No where to pull off. One lane. Made it to Hanna cafe and had a nice lunch. Many bikes out today. See pictures below for how it was.

Got this from a post by Dbird who used to be a Utah Bueller and posted on our forum. Quite good tire stuff on this link so for you guys, Kerri and Jeff, doing track days maybe look it over. I learned a lot. Kind of long but stick with it. Its highly informative and will help with suspension setup. Bob "www.onthethrottle.com/content/view/642/73/" |

As a P.S. to the above post I also believe we have to compromise and adjust our suspension to probably 98% of our riding for our street bikes which to me means one setting for track days and most of the time set for the street. Tracks, especially our new Millers, are quite smooth with a lot of traction. Not so on the street where we have many different kinds of road surfaces, bumpiness, wear holes, dust, sand, gravel, tar strips(we know first hand about those), concrete, blacktop, etc. all needing a compromise to keep as much handling as we can obtain. For me I like a stiff, track like suspension BUT, I believe we need to make small adjustments to keep our tires in the best contact with the pavement. Pretty close to track conditions but with a just little more softness to absorb bumps and help us ride confidently. Sag, preload and damping should be played with until we individually feel confident in handling for our street riding. After reading the tire link I went out and looked at my tires very closely and feel confident I'm real close to a good setting for my style street riding. Just MHO FWIW and sorry about bloviating. For the ride! Bob |

Got an officer here that's got a Fieldsheer one piece suit, prolly size 36 she got for the track in 07, worn only once. It's red, black, and grey/silver. I think I may have a pic of her in it somewhere... $400-350ish, she paid $500 for it at Plaza. -Mike |

Mike, is that leather? What are her rough measurements (height, approx weight (taboo, I know))? Sounds like a deal, but it sounds like it's a bit small... |

How about starting a rundown of who will be at Millers Memorial day weekend. Lets hear who, what days and where you plan on being at the track. So far I'm sure of Kerri and my self on Monday. How about Mike, Jeff( I think you said you have the whole weekend), Brandon and any other Buellers. It should be great fun. Bob |

I'll be there the full weekend, not sure which grandstands I'm in yet. Will also be there both days this weekend. |

Bob, I've got tickets for Sat/Sun/Mon, general admission. My wife and daughter will be out on Saturday as well, thanks again Kerri. Haven't signed up for the trackday on Tues, Lemonchilix1 and Vamps are going to be in Vegas Monday night and Tuesday day, I think I'll ride down there after the races and meet them, figure out lodging once I can get a sitter for the puppy. Kerri, It is leather. She's about 5'4" or so, no more than 125 I'd guess. The suit looked a bit big on her but she said the legs were tight, athletic so she's got buff legs. I've got another pic somewhere of her and her husband at the track... |

She asked me to put this ad up but I only used pics from the track day so this is all I've got, from the Buell day at Millers in May 2007.

Oh yeah, Mike, I couldn't fit into that unless I cut a leg off or something...good deal, though, I hope someone snaps it up! Glad you got the tix! Brandon, I'll be out there this weekend too. Won't be on the bike tomorrow, but I'll be there anyway. I'll keep an eye out for ya... |

DEMO EVENT at the North Salt Lake Triumph/BMW shop today, they're open until 4pm. 215 N. Redwood Road North Salt Lake, UT 84054 801-936-4600 Dude named Joe called to remind me of it yesterday, he said they'd have 20+ bikes out for people to demo. I was hoping to try the 675 Daytona or Street Triple, but may not make it. I used to teach rider safety with Danny, who was working in the shop, not sure if he's still there. Drop in if you get a chance, free food and such. You can also go to wwww dot mytriumphnsl dot com for more info. |

Mike, I saw it on the MMP page on FaceBook. So I was at the track today. I didn't see Brandon (sorry!) but I did spend most of the day watching the Erik Buell Racing guys do two engine swaps on the 1125 and 1190...wow! Great bunch of friendly guys (once they realized I wasn't a corporate spy or magazine person). Watching Tim and Mike wrench on the bikes was amazing and Dennis was a wealth of knowledge as far as what the company is going through. There were three other guys there, Bob, Boyd, and ???, and of course Geoff May was running around as well. Erik will be there next weekend but these guys are sticking around all week to do some "work" on the bikes. If you guys get a chance, you should really stop by there tomorrow and just say hi! No one else was bugging them and they seemed lonely with their plain white, unmarked truck and trailer. I got some pix too... |

I asked around and nobody could tell me where they were. I spent most my time in one of the suites above the pits. |

Is this a ticketed event or are they out there testing and stuff? Did I miss a post or two? If it's open entry do you know how late they'll be out, maybe I can come out late afternoon. |

I'm heading back on the bike this time, will probably bounce out around 10. Mike, I have 2 unused saturday tickets they said they'd convert to sunday tickets for me. They're yours if you'd like. I will get them switched when I get there and will then post here if all is well. Just give me a call if you head out and we'll get it all taken care of. Oh, and I think the events close around 5. Today will be mainly 4-5 lap sprints. Hit me up, let me know. |

Good to see you and Kendrick again Brandon! The rain wasn't too bad...faceshield got a little messy, but that was it. Some great racing today, including a nail-biter in the second to last event today...went right up to the last corner! Good stuff! Can't wait until next weekend! Sorry I didn't get back to you guys and thank you very much for your generous offers! I finally made it to bed about 10:15, took the puppy out around 3, then didn't get up until six thirty, I needed that sleep, I run on four to five hours during the week and crash on the weekends. Sweet pics Kerri. I can't believe it's snowing. Big thick heavy flakes... |

Keep the faith Mike, just rain up here and it looks like it will be a good weekend coming for the races. We'll have most of the whole summer to ride. Hope to see you at Kerri's trailer on Monday at the race. Bob |

Did anyone else make it to the Triumph open house? I went a little late ( I work nights so noon is pretty early to me ). I rode the Street Triple and the Tiger. The Street Triple pulls very well from about 2500/3000 RPM to redline(14000)amazing torque for a 675cc engine.I had it up to about 95MPH in 4th gear and it was still climing, not sure what 5th&6th would do. |

Robert, I have always like the 675 Daytona after I first saw one as I am partial to full faired bikes. If I could afford another bike and wanted a smaller multi that would be it. Also will you be going to Millers on Monday, the 31st? If so stop by our group and say hello. Close to home huh? Bob |

I'm on the Utah SportBike Association forum as well, and it sounds as if a couple of them will be paying us a visit on Monday as well! |
