Dear God, give this guy a break! The market will determine if the bracket is rare and worth his asking price. If it is, it will sell. WHY on earth would he need to give a warning to prospective buyers? Have our lawyers really infiltrated every facet of our lives? Even Badweb? It is a replacement part! Do I need to give a warning when I sell my rotor that the bike won't stop without brake pads, too? Sorry to the orginal poster, not trying to start a discussion...but come one. |

>>>WHY on earth would he need to give a warning to prospective buyers? Because if you put that bracket on without the side brackets it will promptly break off the sub-frame of the motorcycle. Good enough? As an engineer you may appreciate that. IT has nothing to do with either God or lawyers and a lot to do with Badweb being the repository of a lot of knowledge, experience and help. Your response is precisely why I have ceased responding to requests for help from Buell owners. You've convinced me to remove my warning here as well. |

Badweb is a community for knowledge. It's one thing to jump on somebodys add and say "that's 10% too high" or "that paint job is ugly", that's just plain rude. But if you come here making a patently false claim, are asking 4x what something is worth, or are selling something that includes an obvious pitfall, we are going to help. In this case, I sure appreciate somebody pointing out that putting on "part B" if you don't already have "part A" is an invitation to a problem. Deal with it. |

I need this bracket. Can you tell me what your reserve is? I think these are ~150 bucks new. |

Some of the posters here remind me of the 50 something year old guys, that start lining up at 6 am in the parking lots of Harley Dealers, waiting for the doors to open at 9 am, so they can get a free cup of coffee and a donut. Then attack and surround the first guy that rolls up on his machine for service with a hundred questions about his bike. |

Hahahahaha . . I'm lots older than 50 and was feeling kinda blue about it . . . UNTIL I got your e-mail today. Then I was just thankful I'm not a dick. I'd been questioning my decision to stop helping Buell owners with their problems after 20 years . . . you made me feel like a fqcking genius. I'll get older. You'll never get smarter. |

>>>I won't think any less of you as long as you let me know your reserve on this bracket. Here are the part numbers in case anyone is interested. I can’t remember which is 30 days out and which is 14 days out, but it shouldn’t really matter since they are both needed. Bracket, Upper, Top case M0261.1AU – $142.70 Ulysses Top Case Mounting Bracket 92308-05Y - $65.00 http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/142 838/564591.html?1274020197 |

Among the warning stickers I'd like to see on a motorcycle:
quote: Do not take internally.

Funny thing is, I ran for a while with only the topcase and rack without the sidecase racks, you should of seen the shadow as I was going down the highway, it flopped up and down like a fish! Eventually caused the grab rails to work loose too. Fun |

Hey court please help us old farts that appreciate it. I'm in my 60's. Caution, I may double post as I forget a lot. I know another guy my age that rides in enduro's and another that does hill climbs. Oh, and what's wrong with free coffee and donuts. What I like about my Buell is it reminds me of my 1964 Norton Atlas, that I rode in the 60's. Sorry, I forget what's the topic? |

MMmmm Coffee and dough nuts. Hey, I'm 50. I think we were talking about Court delivering coffee and dough nuts to the campsites at HC. Yea, that must be it. |

I think I might have sold that rack to the OP a year or so ago. But, it's hard to remember as I'm 65 and have given up donuts with my coffee in favor of granola bars (they make things work sooo much better, especially the prune ones). |
