State tree the blue spruce, bird the seagull, fish the rainbow trout... not much that applies there either. The Provo mayor is trying to convince the world that Provo is fun, maybe they have something we can use... Delicate Arch is a favorite symbol of mine for the state, all plates but the new bike wear the centennial plates for that reason. Another favorite we seem to have plenty of:

Wish I could do something with this: a "T" shirt I have from the early days of Buelling Utah from SV HD. Cool huh.

+1 on Delicate Arch, although not sure how one would work that into a logo - I am artistically challenged after all... SBK tickets in hand. Evil SmithsTix has been averted by a call direct to MMP. Saves about $30 for two spots. |

I guess we're now the old timers here Mike. You registered just 5 months before me. I also wonder how many Buellers in Utah still do not know about BadWeb. I am planning on using whatever logo we decide on and making business cards with the URL on it and give it to any Bueller or other rider who is interested. Frank Skinner at CBR (Colorado Buell Riders) has been helpful in this venture. Thanks Frank. Waiting to hear back from Blake. Its gonna be close whether I ride this weekend or not. I'm waiting on Federal Express for a new Pirelli Rosso to mount. Just bad planning with the the nice weather predicted. Riding season is just really getting started though. And another d*** 12" of snow up high! Bummer. |

I have tickets for all three days of SBK, then I will be back for Apex on June 1, so I may be living at MMP for a while... |

Jeff, did you get your Erik Buell Racing ECM back from them yet so you can ride the 1125 on Apex day? That would be nice! |

ECM shipped last Thursday, hope to have it in-hand tomorrow, then get the beast back together for test run this weekend. Then on to suspension upgrades..... |

I'll see if I can throw something together with the Arch in it. Jeff, any idea where you're staying? If my camper was bigger, I'd offer you a bunk in there, but yeah well, uh, I don't know you that well. Sorry! I'm glad you guys got your tickets! This going to be a good time! |

On the logo's, here is one with an arch in it but not very imaginative and how about one using the UHP logo but saying Utah Buellers Patrol. I have to learn how to Photoshop!

Kerri I'll probably make the drive from Big O each day. I may ride one of the scooters out on Monday, then trailer the 1125 on Tuesday. Thought about camping, but haven't decided yet. JM |

With Kerri's permission, I hope?, I used her logo and Mike's idea. One more for consideration.

Checked a couple of things today for riding: first weather, from the weather channel online, looks gorgeous for the next 10 days. Mostly sunny and in the 60-70's. Scheduled openings for the nearby canyons from UDOT are: Wolf creek May 15th. East canyon mid-May and Monte Christo, Memorial day. Hopefull it'll be great for Millers. TIME TO RIDE! |

How about a ski Utah plate except with a Buell logo in place of the skier and ride Utah at the bottom?I'd photo shop it but i'm an idiot when it comes to compoooters.Anybody going ridin sunday,I could really use a good ride to get the cobwebs out of the 'ol noggin. |

I like that idea, how about a little tweak - A gray scaled Buell oval with a "Ride Utah" statement at the bottom over the top of the life elevated plate? Just ghost the Image over the the plate so it covers most of it? Might be a little busy though... I'd like to go for a ride this weekend. Saturday is full, might be able to ride Sunday afternoon. I'm also off Monday night so can ride Mon or Tues during the day, Bob? |

Here's a link to the state website letting you test various personalized plates, kinda fun to type in Bueller, and various XB model designations, just click on the plate you want then type away: http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=https://secure.utah.gov/pps/images/home_plate_centennial.gif&imgrefurl=https://secure.utah.gov/pps/&usg=__qtIjirsyXdt3TF6iRuocnN-O0sU=&h=76&w=150&sz=10&hl=en&start=10&sig2=rXPtg3Xr-pPOuV5LkbWwvA&itbs=1&tbnid=KDC13l-do9BgoM:&tbnh=49&tbnw=96&prev=/images%3Fq%3DUtah%2BLife%2BElevated%2Bplate%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DG%26gbv%3D2%26tbs%3Disch:1&ei=0tjtS8HtMJ7oswOb2NDFDw Just for fun, here's a shadow from the sticker on the back window of my truck

This is REALLY rough but something like this? We can always put a different model bike in there. Maybe have the oval BUELL on one side and the Pegasus on the other for "full size" graphics and just the center stuff for smaller things? Maybe have a picture from Miller Motorsports Park as the background instead of the snow, but definitely keep the mtns...

Or keep the "Utah" like it is on the plate and put the "Buell Riders" underneath? |

All great suggestions, and Mike, I thought about the same thing you referred to as ghosting. Photoshop calls it layering. Its going to take a lot of learning for me to do it but I'm working on it.....slowly. A lot to learn. I also like Frank Skinners logo on Colorado Buell Riders. Simple, effective and makes a great patch.
Maybe something similar with UBRG (Utah Buell Riders Group), snow capped mountains but an Erik Buell Racing logo where the road is at the bottom. On riding; I'm up for a ride but waiting for delivery, sometime today, for my tire to arrive via Fedex and then trying to have it mounted and balanced while the dealers are really busy. Hoping. Good to see your Mom is visiting Kerri. You should have time to get the 1125 ready for Millers. I saw yours and Jeffs posts on safety wiring for the track time. How is it going for you guys? I think the only other requirements are changing to water for coolant with maybe an additive, taping over the headlight area and removing the turn signals and mirrors. Is that correct? Also what riders group will you guys be riding in, A,B or C. AND don't forget the tools to easily adjust the suspension. It really does matter, but you already know that! See y'all soon. |

With all this posting going on, I feel out of the loop. I'm gonna babble. Here's a plug for the New Angel tires.... Rode the SSG to work on friday and got caught in one of the big downpours on the way home. You all can call me an idiot, but I wanted to see how much it would take to break them loose. As you can imagine, it didn't take a whole lot. However, they seemed to push the water aside much better than other tires I've used. After cracking them loose, they returned to center very quickly. I've had tires which will break, shift to the side, and stay there. At the time there was probably 3/16" to 1/4" of standing water on the road. I haven't had a chance to break these tires in yet, and have no clue how they're going to handle in the canyons. |

Thanks much Brandon. Wondering where you've been. I was seriously considering them but went with the somewhat new Pirelli Rossos as they more closely mimmick the Corsa III's but have better wear charateristics. I got only 3900 miles from them. They will also better match my still good Corsa III on the front. Gotta get them scrubbed in soon. Going to check out Wolf creek pass tomorrow in the SUV. UDOT says its open for 4WD or chains only. Should be fun. Gotta get a Hanna's cafe burger too. Hope you will make our get together at Millers on Monday the 31st. Hoping to have a strong Buell turnout. Bring Hendrick. Everybody, try not to miss Infineon race tonight on Speed channel at 8:00 & 9:00. Erik Buell Racing will be running an 1125R in DSB and an 1125RR in Superbike. They will be debuting their 1190RR but I doubt Speed channel will have anything on that. I sure there will be a lot of chatter on BadWeb Monday. Lets stay safe out there people. |

Sorry, my bad, but doesn't look like any 1125's in DSB as of live timing right now. BUT Geoff May snagged 10th in AMA Superbike with a 1.38.5 about 2 seconds behind the poll who was Ben Bostrom on a Yamaha R1 at 136.1. http://www.roadracingworld.com/news/article/?artic le=40451 http://laptraxtg.racersites-cluster.com/LapTraxTG/ AMA/livescoring.html?LAPTRAXID=2010011020 Look for a an all black #99. The 1190RR might be in a race there similar to our GTO race here at Millers but that won't be televised. Later, Bob (Message edited by bob_thompson on May 15, 2010) |
