I've dreamt of Buells since I was in high school, and been a Buell owner for a few years now. My first Buell was an XB9S, which is now my fiances bike. I have done quite a bit of customizing, from custom white body work, to designed-by-me graphics to lots of powder coating and anodizing (check out the forks!) to swapping in the XB9SL suspension to the race kit: Our second Buell was her first bike, a Blast. What a hoot to ride! Did lots to that one as well (I can't leave stuff alone ), I'll let the pics speak for it. This bike has now been sold; Then I picked up my first Tuber, a 99 X1. LOVE this bike! I've done a few thing to it: custom rear pulley, dual headlights, it has Force exhaust, race ECM, PM wheels and the factory chrome tail: But I have always found myself lusting for the Uly! So tonight I picked one up from a fellow BadWebber. I am excited to learn more bout this bike, put on some miles and get it off road a bit! Here's all 3, happy and tucked in for the night Just wanted to say hi and introduce myself! I'm sure I'll have lots of dumb questions to ask you all- please know that I respect you and your knowledge! |

thanks! I'm struggling a bit with a vision for it- for starters, the first thing I have always done with every bike I've owned is remove the rear fenders and belt/chain guards and done a tidy tail set up...but now I have a bike whose porpuse uses them! I do know that this winter it will get the tail section, triple clamp, fork lowers, primary cover and cam cover powder coated black and the fork uppers anodized black. Also 9 gearing will be going into the primary. so that's a start! For now, I ride! |

Cool another Minnesota Uly guy. Welcome and have fun with the new bike. Are those black wheels on the Uly. |

Why yes they are, thank you very much. That's one of the reasons for picking this Uly- I don't like the magnesium (or whatever) color on the wheels, engine covers and tail. Having black wheels already saves me that step and $$! |

Oh yeah, black ceramic coated pipes are in order as well! I guess I have a little more of an idea than I thought For those who are interested in the XB build (white bike above) click here: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/327 77/562148.html?1273541215 |

Welcome to the insanity. Personally the Uly was my dream bike as well. Ever since the first time I saw my bike on the sales floor I knew I wanted it. Be happy to pass along any info I can! I have a 2008 XB12XT |

Out of the cheese state and in to mud duck land. The Uly should be happy in its new home. Congrats on a good buy man, it will be cool to see the bike all blacked out. |

"Guys, we got to do a Twin Cities multi Uly ride soon, looks like 6 of us so far!" Sounds like a great idea! "Hey! I have a Jeep and a Uly too." they kind of go hand-in-hand, huh? i havent driven that thing in over 4 years. I should fire her up again tho- a built Chevy 350, 4.5" Rubicon Express lift, etc. makes a fun Jeep! |

That's a great idea Ron. We could plan an easy half day ride, ending at a gravel pit or series of hardpack trails testing our off road capabilities.... with a local yocal joint nearby! |

I finally got a chance to ride mine to work today for the first time. The title and license plate showed up last week. Been waiting since Jan.... Still need to do a TPS reset, then should be good to go. Tires have GOT TO GO. They suck. I've never liked Continentals, these wouldn't make a good planter... Now if I can only find a left bag or L&R cheap.... Brad (Message edited by bluzm2 on May 14, 2010) |

Maybe I'm goofy but I ride with only one side bag sometimes. That being said I do have a Journey top case and rack I never use if someone wants it. |

that wouldn't be the same top case rack that the H&B's use is it? I have the stock hard top case that I'm looking for a rack for..... |

Yup. Your sidecases should say Journey on the inside. |

I wonder what the Uly-to-other-Buell ratio is in MN--I'm sure it's pretty high. Welcome aboard! |

It would seem that way, but I will say that I ride 5 other Buellers, and none of them ride Ulys! 08 City-X 03 Firebolt 03 Lightning 99 X1 09 1125CR I generally see quite a few Buells in MN tho...much more so than in other states it would seem (at least judging by the number of threads where the author is freaking out because they spotted another Buell! ). |

Hey fellow MN riders, let's pick a date for a ride. How about Sunday, May 30th? It's Memorial Day weekend, so I'm expecting everyone to be busy. But I'll be looking to ride and everyone's welcome to come with. I like the ride from the Cities to Welsh Village. But would be more interested in something with more dirt roads if anyone knows a better route. |
