Gotta have some surgery (shoulder) and will not be able to ride for about 3 months. Any advice on fuel injector care additives/stabilizer use?

Stabil should do just fine. 3 months isn't too long.

I'd fill it up with fresh gas and stabil, maybe throw a bit of seafoam in for good measure, and then don't worry about it. You probably will want to put it on a charger, though.

... got any friends you trust to take it for a spin on occasion?

I wouldn't bother with the Stabil, but I would add some Seafoam. That stuff works fantastically as fuel stabilizer. My carbureted '91 CBR600F2 sat for 9 months while I was in the process of upgrading the bodywork on it. The bike ran as flawlessly when I fired it up after 9 months as it did when I parked it. Carbureted bikes are much more susceptible to fuel system clogging since they are typically not pressurized like fuel injected systems, so if it did well for my CBR, it should work great for an 1125.

If you had carbs on the bike then I would say run the carbs dry before storing. The fuel evaporates and leaves behind the additives that block all the little pipes and holes. But now we have FI no worries for much longer. Plug in the battery tender and that's it. Don't bother with the fuel stuff.

Stabil is so cheap it's hard for me to rationalize not doing it. I've stored cars for years, like the '82 Corvette that I sold just a couple of years ago with 450 original miles. Never a problem ...

3 months? Push it into the corner, throw a battery tender on if you have one. Otherwise, just leave it.

OK, thanks for all the input. Had the other shoulder done 2 years ago and did not ride for 100 days, hope for the same or less this time. This getting old sucks. Worn out organic parts. Please shoot me when I can't wheelie anymore.

I've got a hot-rod trike frame in storage to build up when I get really old.

I chuckled watching the remnants of The Who doing "My Generation" live recently.
Gotta wonder about "Hope I die before I get old" anymore...
