Hey everybody!!! Just wanted to say i love this site. LOTS of good info here. I'm going to check out an '07 12r this weekend. The loan has gone through, and it looks like a good price for the bike. I can't wait to get back on two wheels. As of yet, the bike is bone stock. But that won't last. Any ideas on what the first few mods should be? Always open to suggestions! THANKS GUYS!!!

Exhaust, open airbox, race ecm/map, header wrap, catchcan and breather reroute. Clear/integrated tail, fedner eliminator and 1125R mirrors.

That should keep ya busy : )

I've had my 9r for couple years, and still not done modding it!

Could just be the light, but it looks like it already has a Drummer muffler on it. It clearly has an LSL steering damper. It also has the Traction handgrips and a homemade chopped tail.

Ride it. The bikes are pretty much perfect from the factory, only thing it needs is miles.

Oh and its interesting how a bone stock bike has a steering dampener, airbox guard, traction grips, coated header, missing fork reflectors, different seat, and something hanging off the tail section. : )

Unless I'm wrong, that something is a bungee cord and it may be there to keep the bodywork attached. Certainly looks like it is connected to the rear pegs and goes around the lights to keep it in place. I would check that before money is put on the table!

Steering damper means it was either raced or someone didn't know how to set up the suspension and dropped the forks too far so that it is unstable.

Front and rear signals have been shaved or replaced.

The rear signals are stock. To me it looks the the muffler has a SS plate on the back end, instead of the round black steel.

Well, i see that the bike is not stock. i posted that during my very short lunch break. but it's cool. the person has it listed for $4250. i'm sure it has some quirks, but i can iron those out myself in time. no biggie. there was also a 9R listed but it has some tranny issues. so i'm pretty leery of that one. even if it needs a little tlc, these bikes are getting fewer and farther between these days. i do appreciate the input though.

I just wiped out on my 9r a week ago due to crap weather. Definatly look into sliders for the bike. I blew off getting them thinking I wouldn't wreck. But too any little freak things like dust, wind, speed and pot holes add up to one big crash that could up anyone. Grab sliders for it!

The '07+ airbox already has quite a few holes in them. I cut out the front of my airbox that is behind the mesh of the outer cover.

Well, to be honest, I know there isn't anything wrong with the bikes from the factory. I would just like to make it my own.

Modding bikes is fun, and once you've started, it's more than difficult to stop.
One piece of advise though, get to know your bike first, then mod it to make it yours.

Oh and don't just start cutting holes in your airbox either.
Any engine mods you make, be sure it's what you wanted to do, not just something someone else said was cool.
There are lots of people here that are more than willing to help.

Well, I went and checked out the bike. Took it for a little test ride. As I checked the motor and tranny, it was nice and clean. The guy didn't wash the bike, but it still looked nice. No oil leaks, and no funny noises coming from anywhere. It does have a drummer muffler and a race tune ECM. The seat is aftermarket, and is really comfortable. It has great power, and no signs of being dropped. It was an awesome bike, so I talked him down a little bit. I go pick it up on Wednesday! I can't wait! I'll post better pictures when I get them.

I'd rather it be that way. Don't clean it. I wanna see how you treat it. What does it look like in it's true form. And honestly, he's getting rid of it. It's YOUR bike to clean now.

Nice find...enjoy and welcome to the madness.
