Does HD have a policy about loaner bikes while mine is in for warranty, or is it dealer by dealer? My CR is going in for the harness install and CA can...if I can get a bike to ride around for the few days I wouldn't be upset about it! ac | ||

Haha, hahaha. *breathes* Hahahahahahahahaha. Good luck on this. I asked about this at one of the dealerships I tried. The response? "Yeah, you can rent a bike while yours is in the shop." "Is it a free rental, or can I get a discount on it?" "No, but you're free to rent one." $170+/day plus a $2000 damage deposit? No thanks, I'll take a taxi. | ||

Ok, I will just casually ask when I drop it off this evening. I have a backup 1125R I can ride while they have my bike. I will also point out that I want my baby back ASAP! LOL ac | ||

I will also point out that I want my baby back ASAP! LOL Although it may not seem like it sometimes MOST dealers want to get your bike back to you ASAP as well. Sitting in the shop takes up space and they usually don't get paid until the jobs done. But it never hurts to ask lol  | ||

You would think. Initially they wanted me to drop it off indefinitely. I convinced them to order parts and call me when they arrived. It is tough for Harley guys to realize someone might actually use their motorcycles when there are no scheduled "runs". ac | ||

As some may know, I bought a completely totaled 1125r. Iv been working on it for quit a while now and its almost completed, - swaped frames, - new fork, - plastics, oil lines, - radiator, misc. electrical.. ect.. The bike was never reported "wrecked" so it has a clear title. My question is. Will my 1125r still be good on any warranty? Also the frame has a diff vin number than the wrecked or old one. My local HD keeps giving me the run around and never ends up answering my question. | ||

call buell directly but i wouldn't count on it they might cover the motor/trans but that's about it just my guesstimation though | ||

Jim Bailey's in Ft. Wayne, IN gives me a loaner EVERY TIME. Even for just oil changes. | ||

Normally from the time i get there till i leave, anywhere from 1-2 hours. Fine by me as long as I'm out killing time on there bikes. This is what they gave me a few weeks ago when i got the new harness installed on my 1125.  I rode it straight to the BMW dealer to see if they had any S1000RR....No luck! lol | ||

I got one of those from Bailey's, too! Except I had to give them a check for a large amount of $$$ !! But I love it. The only time I had to leave my 1125R there was for the weepy clutch upgrade and they came to pick it up. I never inquired about a loaner and it WAS the middle of winter, but I now have a bad turn signal I need them to replace for warranty...HMMMMM!!!! Hey, Adam!! | ||

Bailey's has always been good to me. They still have two full time Buell techs and they signed up for the 7 year plan! They also came to pick my bike up for me when i had the primary nut back off my brand new 600 mile Ss. Mind you it was a 2 hour drive! | ||

No complaints about Bailey's. Good folks and friendly staff. They've always been good to me. I visit them regularly to drink their coffee. Gordy always says hello! | ||

I think you should get a loaner when they work on your bike. Would be a great way to get introduced to other makes/models that you wouldn't otherwise consider. I've asked repeatedly for a loaner at the two dealerships I've taken my bike to for service. No way no how. Not even a Blast. Sucks for people who use their bike as their commuting vehicle as well as a toy. | ||

Comm... what? That's like when you go out and ride to the store on a weekend to get beer, right? I really don't think most Harley dealerships understand the concept of a commuter bike. | ||

Just a thought, but the intelligent (or less than intelligent, depending on your perspective) dealer may want to loan a Harley to a Buell rider, in hopes of getting them to want a Harley. After all, since our brand is gone some may be searching for a new tree in which to nest. If the sell of a HD bike may be as easy as a loaner for a day, why not? | ||

I inquired with my servicing dealer (http://www.northcountryhd.com/ augusta me) and although they didn't have a loaner available they arranged for me to test ride that bombadier spider gizmo. I never would have touched that thing otherwise, and i'm glad i did, it was fun. Not my style of riding, but definitely appreciate the positive points. | ||

you mean some dealers are going to support buell for less then 7 years? Some dealers quit on Oct, 15th 2009. And does that mean they are only going to support buell for 7 years? Short answer, yes. You will find a few that will still be around and willing to help. Remaining inventories of Buell motorcycles, accessories and apparel, while they last, will continue to be sold through authorized dealerships. Warranty coverage will continue as normal for Buell motorcycles and the Company will provide replacement parts and service through dealerships who signed on for the 7 years. Reason for the 7 years is IIRC any company that shuts down has to supply parts and service for 7 years...Or until they run out is my guess!
