1. Has anyone solved the preload adjuster problem that Fresnobuell pointed out back in the day? (it's a PINA)

2. Would someone who has the shock please post Sag and Ride hight settings that are in the manual? (mine seems to have been eaten at the track)

Ohlins does have the manuals in PDF for download on their website.

True, but not specific to the 1125r. Since the shock shipped pre-configured for the bike, I was hoping the manual that came with it reflected that setup.

Most race stuff doesn't have any manuals for some reason. I guess they figure we are smart enough to figure it out? At least that's my experience.

And I am shocked (no pun) no other Ohlins shock users have the same concern regarding this preload mechanism. It really sucks with the subframe--stock or stubby race version.

Yes it does suck.
I ended up using a screwdriver to get it past the set screw.
It helps a bunch to lift on the subframe to get the weight off the spring when making the changes.

i haven't gotten around to installing mine yet, so i have no idea of which issue you're talking about, but i can check my box for the manual if there is even one in there. If so, I'll post the requested info. after my lunch break (bout an hour from now).

Yes. Take some load off the spring will probably help. A hydraulic adjuster might have been the ticket here (more $$$). Or the dual ring setup found on so many bikes...This has to be the worst choice Ohlins could have made.

Thanks!
The preload really does suck. I would expect better from Ohlins. If I had paid full price, I would be really pissed rather than just highly annoyed.

Yeah, it really should have come with a hydraulic preload.

sorry so long, but the manual lists the following:

free sag rear 5-15mm
free sag front 20-30mm
ride height rear 25-35mm
ride height front 30-40mm

Thanks for the settings. These are the same that are in the generic manual so I guess this is their general starting point.
BTW, with the Showa Cartridges from EB, I can't get anywhere near 30-40 mm ride hight.
