Is anyone aware of a place I could purchase the ecmspy software for an 06 Uly. I am having problems with the bike like the BAS and would like to turn it off. I just ordered the cable but can't find drivers or software. Please and thanks (Message edited by yournamehere on May 09, 2010) |

The software is all free. You can do a Google search and find download links for ECMspy, and if you are using Vista or Win7 you don't need drivers as they come preinstalled. If you are using XP you can get the drivers from the FTDI website. http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/D2XX.htm |

Help me out with a little ECMspy 101. What practical use is it to a owner rider? In my case, my ECM was remapped on a dyno with ECMspy. What are you doing with ECMspy and why? |

ECMspy lets you easily run diagnostics, reset the TPS, and alter various things including the fuel maps, or in Blair's case, disable the bank angle sensor. |

I reformatted my laptop and haven't been able to get ECMspy to work. I keep getting a Blue Screen of Death. I have ECMspy open, make both connections, turn on the key, put kill switch to run and get the BSOD when I hit connect in ECMspy. In device manager, I see the ECMcable in USB devices. I click on update driver and manually tell it what driver to install. I pointed to "ftdibus.cat" and the driver finished installing. I tried hooking it up and BSOD. I repeated the process with "ftdiport.cat" and got the BSOD again. I tried using the 2.04.16 files I used last time and I know they used to work. |

full driver file. This is my copy from the fdti site loaded to my server. Try this one. http://xoptiinside.com/yahoo_site_admin/assets/doc s/CDM20406.231150306.exe If your getting the bsod still check the ecmspy file itself. You may have a copy of the bad file thats floating around. your not the only one with this issue. each time i see it its either the wrong driver or a bad ecmspy. Did you buy this as a cable and cd offline? If so it explains a lot. also try this one. http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/CDM/CDM20600.exe (Message edited by xoptimizedrsx on May 11, 2010) |

Bought a cable on ebay. It used to work before I reformatted. I've been trying with the new version of ECMspy. I'll try to reinstall that as well. I'll try the first set of drivers. I just downloaded it and installed it. Do I need to manually update the drivers? Thanks for the help. |

check the sockets in the cable. also check the joints. I was told they are only crimped and crimped with a standard crimper not the crimp tool. I crimp with the tool and solder mine. may be a loose or broken wire in the plug. I have seen it happen. you should be able to load the driver. then plug in the cable it it says found hardware and installed ready to use. Its the plug... Mike |
