G2 Tamer throttle tube for Yamaha R1 fits and works great with Buell XB/1125 bikes. R1 throttle has an identical cam diameter as Buell XB/1125's throttle tube cam. Drop in replacement. No mod. Due to progressive cam when the throttle opens, it is much easier to maintain control at low speeds (sub 20 MPH) in traffic. Much smoother throttle - no surge. |

There was an earlier post, I've had mine now for 1000+ miles, no problem, only smooth acceleration outta corners and from stopped. Good cheap mod for the results. |

What cam did you get? I was initially sent F4 cam, which is way way too small. It caused 20-30 more turns, which I didn't like. It simply was not the right size. So I had requested a different cam, which is for R1, which still keeps within 1/4 turn. |

http://g2ergo.com/about.html Email Gary with your bike info and say that you were advised from the Buell forum. He sent me the tube the same day, got it two days later. The package was blank with no part number, but he must know which one it is cause it works. I didn't take a pictures of the install. If you get it your going to need a set of grips w/o a tube inside. I got a pair of Pro-Grips from American Sport Bike. One of the biggest difference is the delrin bearings on the inside of the tube, it twists much smoother than the stock. Easy install, only need to take some slack out of the cables with the adjusters after due to the smaller size cam. |

too late. I did the PVC mod. It took 3/8 inch a turn out of the bike and cost less than a buck. stock r1 has the same ID but a larger OD than all 6 of the buell throttles I had on hand. 33.5 MM od. I have a R1 (40.0 MM od.) from 2008 throttle on the way. 8 bucks on ebay. this will tell if its a quick upgrade with only the housing mod to fit the cam. |

The G2 cam is a popular solution to the same problem on the KTM Superduke R. It seems the damn throttle is like a light switch. I have heard several people say a new cam totally solves the snatchy throttle. That said, it seems to me that the 1125's problem can be easily solved by fixing the fueling. Frankly, with proper fueling, I would rather have a quick action cam on my bike, especially on track. It is a pretty big twist already to WFO. |

I have both the R1 and Buell XB/1125 throttle tubes in front of me. Here are the measurements for OD: Buell XB/1125: 37mm R1: 36.7mm Buell in fact is tad larger, but 0.3mm should be negligible. R6, which I don't have has a larger diameter than R1. So 40mm is likely R6, not R1. |

In exchange for that slower engagement at off to slightly cracked, you either have a longer total throttle turn or faster engagement later in the throw. So far, the best solution I've found to the twitchy transition between on and off throttle is to simply learn to ride faster so I don't need cracked throttle positions much. The OEM throttle from about 25% on is really, really good IMHO. |

I just found out from Gary of G2 that G2 throttle tubes come in the following cam sizes: QUICK TURN: 025 CAM 20% larger radius than OEM. 050 CAM 10% larger radius than OEM. STOCK: 100 CAM Same radius as OEM. TAMER: 200 CAM 10% smaller radius than OEM for first 50% of throttle rotation, then ramps up to OEM radius. 300 CAM 15% smaller radius than OEM for first 50% of throttle rotation, then ramps up to OEM radius. 400 CAM 20% smaller radius than stock for first 50% of throttle rotation, then ramps up to OEM radius. ************************ I currently have the 400 cam. Going to try the 200 and 300 cam next. |

Jap numbers and letters all blend in sometimes My bad it is a R6... That is the one that is larger. Mine should be here this week. At that time i will post about it and if it will drop into the modified housing. (just some material removed from the lower insert and the grove recut deeper.) |
