about 3 weeks ago i hit a huge pothole , i pull over to see if the rims bent and i hit some deep sand and the front just washes out and bang the left bag and handguard have a little scuff (oh and yes the rims bent). oh well now it has some personality. ok so yesterday i take a nice 80 or so mile ride to my dealer for a new rear tire (6500 miles on the stock pirelli angel tire). tires on and i leave to ride home and it's pouring rain.i get on the garden state parkway and for about 20 miles there heavy suds coming up off the roadway. that was pretty freakin weird and slippery as hell. i get home and look at my brand spankin new tire and it's on backwards (grrrrr) back down to jersey ,remount tire , tires facing the right way now ,no more rain just super windy. i'm driving along about 75 mph in the left lane , and the shirthead in front of me locks up his brakes for no reason , so i'm zoneing out and uh oh downshift 4th , 3rd , 2nd , slow motion 1st , shit it's not stopping ,squeeze the front brake hard as i can and do my first stoppie (car next to me said i got the rear about 3 feet off the ground),whew it stopped inches from the bumper. rear wheel came down a little sideways and over we go. now i have a matching scuff on the right side. i haven't dropped a bike in 20 years wtf is going on this year. ok i'm done ranting ,here's some gratuitous Uly shots. BREATH DEEP. Take another. AHhahaa. Damn! I do my own tires at a friends house with a cheapo Harbor Freight set up. 6500 on the Angle. Cool. I will be lucky if I get 3000 on mine. Once it was on correctly did it work well in the rain? BDRAG |

Yeah, I thought the scrapes looked tough on mine...for a while. Then I got sick of seeing them, so I changed my wind deflectors for new oem ones. Should have gotten real handgaurds like Barbusters. Glad it was only a bent rim and some scratched wind deflectors. |

My last stoppie ended with more than a bent rim and lever |

Sorry about the mishaps, Dcc46. We've all been there. Things will straighten out and all will be in balance again! Being a smart man, yeah wearing that Cycleport gear is a dead give away, will serve you well. Hey, check out their Racing Gloves; none better and I LOVE them. |
