Mike et al., think we're out on the reverse ride. Zanesville was a good place for us to bail and head back to Athens. We'll catch everyone on the next ride. |

A friend of mine has a used pit bike for sale. New piston and a little work and it will be running fine. It is a 110 honda clone (chinese) like a 70s style xr. (Like any of the cheap ones on ebay) $250 |

I just got a 1984 DS 80 running last night, will eventually sell after I let my nephew and stuff goof off on it for a bit. I also have pretty much another DS 80 but it is in pieces if anyone is looking for something like that. |

I knew you guys wanted to bail in Zanesville, but doing the loop forward puts us at our lunch/gas stop after only an hour and 60 miles. It'll still add a bit of mileage, but you guys could do the reverse loop, and bail onto 60 South just after lunch (Coshocton). It'll take you right back to Zanesville. |

And a repost because it got archived: Our first ride of the 2010 season is here! Mark your calendars for Sunday, May 16 @ 10am for a 160-mile loop to the east of Columbus, running from Reynoldsburg through Zanesville, up to West Lafayette, to a lunch and gas stop in Coshocton, down through Newark, and back over to Reynoldsburg. We will meet in the Walmart parking lot in Reynoldsburg at I-70 and 256 (opposite side of the highway as the Motorcycle Hall of Fame). There’s gas and food right there as well, so come early and be ready to hit the road. Kickstands up at 10am. There will be a gas & food stop mid-way through, so plan on 5-6 hrs. We’ll circle back around to where we started at Walmart for a full 160-miles. This ride is a COBRA ride, but you’re welcome to bring along non-COBRA, non-Buell riding friends. |

An update on the ARC-ST (Advanced Riding Course - Sportbike) classes offered in Columbus: The Sunday and Monday classes over Memorial Day weekend (May 30, 31) were cancelled, but classes were added on Saturday & Sunday, June 12 & 13. Those classes will run from 10am-7pm at the ODPS site at 1970 West Broad. Registration is still through the Motorcycle Ohio scheduling site: https://www.dps.state.oh.us/MOScheduling/ I scheduled my class on Saturday over Memorial Day weekend, and that one is still on. |

I'm doing the Kent class this Sunday. Anyone else signed up for it? EDIT! I'm doing the Troy class this Sunday. Man, I was looking at the directions like WTF? I thought it was an hour away, not 2 and a half! (Message edited by mikef5000 on May 04, 2010) |

40 minutes start to finish.... I just mounted up a new tire with my harbor freight tire changer and got it done pretty quick for doing it by myself. It helps if you put the tire tool in the right spot on the tire when ya try to stretch it back on.... BUT!! as I was cleaning the bearings to put some fresh anti seize on...... they felt a little chunky.... SO.... I went ahead and mounted my rear spare instead and will be ordering a new set of bearings tomorrow. |

Official starting point for the ride is posted above, as well as on the website. Walmart parking lot at Taylor Square shopping center in Reynoldsburg. 2793 Taylor Road Ext, Reynoldsburg, OH I didn't ask for RSVP's or anything, so I haven't a clue how many to expect on the ride. I'm looking forward to it though, and hope we get a good group! On another topic, I took the Advanced Rider Course today out in Troy. What a blast! The class focuses on emergency braking, swerving, and decreasing radius corners. BOTH my instructors were on Buells! HOW COOL IS THAT! A Thunderbolt and a Cyclone. One of them was Mark Bookbinder, a COBRA member. They also have a dirt course in Troy! I will be calling tomorrow about scheduling an advanced dirt course. I'll report back for anyone interested. They supply the bikes and the full dirt riding gear. They have a full fleet of Honda 230cc supermoto's and dual sports. |

It don't look like I will be there on the 16th my belt broke on sunday have not found one yet. I hope ADF will have one tuesday. Second one in 30,400 miles the belt just seams to tight to me. My old S3T had over 55,000 miles the engine blueup but my belt was still good not near as tight as the Uly. |

Hey Dennis.... I take it you didn't get my message. I ordered a "spare" and it just came in. I will call Farrows (downtown) and let them know you need it more than I do. Then I'll order another one for the shelf... problem solved |

Congrats John! I suppose that's a decent excuse for missing a ride. I spoke with the guy about setting up an 'advanced' dirt bike class. Turns out there isn't a set schedule, more like you call with an idea of when you can do it, and they'll try to work it out. I need to do it on a Sunday, so Mark and Bruce, shoot me a list of your available Sundays over the next couple months and I'll see what I can work out. Anyone else interested, it's a 5 hour class, they provide the bike and full gear, and the cost is only $50. Anyone and everyone is invited, just shoot me an email with your available Sundays over June and July. The two he suggested were June 6th or 20th. I'll be at Homecoming on the 20th, so let me know about the 6th. |
