I'm about to depart on a 4,000 mile trip. I can see now that I would be better off with top loading bags. I'll need to sell the Journeys to offset the price of the top loaders. What's a new set worth? I'll be keeping the mounting system. |

I've seen them going for $300 - $500. A used set of Gobi's will set you back about $450. Aluminums $300 - over $1k. I have the Gobi's and they are keepers. |

You may want to look at the Holans for a bit less. Very similar to the Explorers. |

I just listed it here for $450 OBO. Will the Holans fit the stock mount? |

They fit, but you have to go to a puck system like the Happy Trail and drill the mounting holes in the cases. Not as nice, but cheaper. |

Will Happy trail fit on the stock racks? Just thinking, I could have 1 set of bags that I could use on both the 1200GS and XT. |

HT's will fit, but you will probably need to drill holes in different locations to align the mounting pucks. |
