Is there a complete list of all available exhaust for the 1125r? I just wanted to know all my options. If not I'm gonna get started on one. I'll start with what I know and feel free to add. Eric Buell Racing 1125 Race Exhaust Kit http://www.EBRacing.com/shop/product41.html FMF Apex slip-on FMF Titanium Race System http://www.fmfracing.com/Mode/Bike/2009_BUELL_1125 R Jardin RT-5 slip-on http://www.jardineproducts.com/products/searchType /vehicleSearch/year/2008/make/BUELL/model/1125R/sf ID1/28/sfID2/8 Drummer 1125ss http://www.kdfab.com/drummer1125ss.htm Remus 1125r http://www.remusexhaustshop.com/buell-1125r-c-142_ 261_268.html Torque Hammer http://www.twinmotorcycles.nl/webshop/artikel.asp? guid=YXHFSC&aid=1936&cid=5154&s=&a= FreeSpirits RS-413 Full System http://www.freespirits.it/prodotti.php?lang=2&cat_ id=13&prod_id=239 FreeSpirits RS-415 Slip-on http://www.freespirits.it/prodotti.php?lang=2&cat_ id=13&prod_id=236 FreeSpirits RS-419 Full System http://www.freespirits.it/prodotti.php?lang=2&cat_ id=13&prod_id=255 HMF Slip-on http://hmfracing.com/shop/pipes/buell/buell-1125-0 8-09 Termignoni BU06 Slip-on http://www.termignoni.it/pages/modello.php?marcaMo to=BUELL&modelloMoto=1125 R&annoMoto=2008 – 2009 Termignoni BU08 Full System http://www.termignoni.it/pages/modello.php?marcaMo to=BUELL&modelloMoto=BUELL 1125 R&annoMoto=2008-2009 Sorry if I forgot your favorite manufacturer, but these are all I remember at the moment. Feel free to add to the list. I am currently shopping hence my interest, but I'm sure this isn't the first time someone has asked for a list of available products. Maybe an official list can be posted at the top of the page or something. That way the next guy that comes along can get a list of exhaust in like 2 seconds. I don't know which one I'm leaning to...there are many likes and dislikes. Serious question, does anyone know if the Free Spirits systems require repacking or not? I heard of problems with discoloration, how about cracking? See...I already remembered one. American Sport Bike will be doing an exhaust shootout soon. Also you missed a few KEDA designs pipes and some others. |

How loud are the Keda pipes? I am not looking to go deaf here. But the 304 SS in the last video on the page you posted seemed like an ok dB range. How about this...is louder than the Jardine? The Jardine was about the loudest I would want to go. After that it would be riding with ear plugs, and I'm just not gonna go that route. Also...I forgot the first race pipe made for the bike... Saron http://www.saron.biz/en/products/ HR1 Riot exhaust was made for the bike, but I no longer see it on their site. |

Subjectively speaking from what I've heard personally, this is in order of ear bleeding loud to the quietest. *D&D (ear bleeding loud, to me, this one WILL do damage to your ears eventually) *Jardine/FMF *RT-3 (mine, straight thru 4" can) *RT-1 or 2 (oval body, 2 chamber) also, the Drummer is pretty close to this for volume/tone I think. *T-Hammer (haven't actually heard this in person, but I'm pretty sure it's not very loud) *MT-1 (stock can, slightly modified for several things such as thump, get the gases off the wheel and not lose power, but still retain the stock look) *Stock can Obviously I missed a few, but I don't really want to comment on stuff I haven't heard in person. That said, I've listened to pretty much everything out there on youtube somewhere along the line. It's really tough to get a good impression of most systems, the vast majority of the videos out there simply don't come close to the true sound of the exhaust note. I have a Torquehammer exhaust. Interestingly it was quite loud (not at all deafening) when first fitted with the Twinmotorcycles ECM but is quieter with the Erik Buell Racing ECM!! Before it crackled like a dragbike on nitro.....now its a warmer softer sound. (Message edited by trafford on May 04, 2010) |

I heard the drummer was louder than the Jardine. Granted I've never done a side by side comparison. Also is this a comparison only at idle? As certain pipes are more mellow under revs while others get even louder. Anyone know if this shootout they are gonna do will include dB levels? That might add a little useful information. Also, what pipes exactly are they gonna do? If they are gonna do them all than damn...lot o money. ST (Message edited by Steeltech on May 04, 2010) |

I'm glad you started this thread as I was going to ask a similar question. I'm in the middle of researching exhaust and can't decide on one or two for that matter. I like the FS, HPE,(expensive) RT1 looks good also. I'm looking for an exhaust that will increase HP throughout the RPM range, look good and sound good without me going deaf. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. |

Getting one that will do all that seems to be challenging...at least in a reasonable price range. Funny thing is the "going deaf" part seems to be one of the hardest hurdles as almost all of them are very loud. When will the shoot-out be? I hear soon, but they kept saying Duke Nukem forever would come out soon.... I would rather not wait till the summer season is over to start getting a pipe. Any word? ST |

It was posted in the link. May 17th I think is the actual start, it will run for 2 or 2.5 days.
quote:A few years ago, a bunch of badwebbers got together and conducted a fairly intense exhaust shootout for all of the easily obtained US XB exhausts. Prior to that test, the data that was present was all on different bikes, different dynos, different operators, different altitudes, different weather, etc. Terry at JT&S and I have been talking about doing that same testing for the 1125 market for some time. We've locked down the date for doing it in approximately 5 weeks on the JT&S dyno in the days just after the AMA races conclude there on May 16th. We have a bike, we have the room, we have discussed the test plan but haven't written it down yet. It will be similar to the XB testing, with a few changes: 1) The XB testing was for both an XB9 and an XB12. This will be using a single 1125R only.
I shipped out an RT-1 and an RT-3 today. I'll see if I can get a hold of the RT-2 owner out there in CA, maybe he'd take a run by there with it. Talked to Al for a few minutes on the phone, extremely good/nice guy to talk to. Edit; I have that game, been beta testing it for 10 years now. (Message edited by d_adams on May 06, 2010) |

Not a clue Josh. Thanks for the inputs. A few more I forgot about and a few I haven't seen yet. I have almost fully committed myself the the Remus system after further review. It should not require any repacking for the life of the pipe according the Rep over the phone. It has a steel wool packing. It also has a removable baffle that makes the pipe either a manageable volume or a louder straight through design. It boasts a power increase EVEN WITH the dB killer in, let alone once you remove it. It has a seemingly sleek design that follows the curve of the bike and doesn't release the exhaust gases on the rear swing arm. It is also reasonably priced at about $700. I'm thinking of buying it this weekend and soon after buying the K&N air filter and the Erik Buell Racing race ECM. Any thoughts on the configuration? Anyone have problems with that exhaust? Also for the race ECM, I'm considering a lowered idle as I heard it was a common practice on order. What is the lowest anyone has had the idle lowered? I heard 1200rpm...anyone go further down? 1150? 1100? Wonder how she would sound down at a 1000. (Message edited by Steeltech on May 07, 2010) |
