I'm trying to place an order with Erik Buell Racing, and neither their web site nor Facebook page seems to offer such a thing as a telephone number. I looked in the sponsors section here and don't see an entry for them. Anyone know how to reach them? KeS |

Via e-mail, please. We really appreciate that. There's only one phone line here, and it is continuously overloaded with calls going out and calls from the people who have to call in. |

Ok. So after I send two emails over the course of a week without a response, *then* how do I go about communicating with Erik Buell Racing? This could have been taken care of in five minutes over the phone. I can't "just place an order" because the web site won't accept an order for an out-of-stock item, AND because depending on the anwer I can't get to my question, it may not be on the web site yet anyway. They've been very helpful when I've gotten responses from them. I agree. That's not helping me presently. Are you offering to broker the conversation? KeS |

Kevin, I think they forgot you are the only person in the world...wasn't it a HINT when you didn't see a phone number listed? Geez. |

I don't pretend to be the only person in the world. I'm asking a perfectly legitimate question on how to contact a SPONSOR so I can spend some money. I've seen references in other threads to people actually speaking to them on the phone, so I asked the question. If you don't have anything to contribute, feel free to shut up. NO YOU SHUT UP! Really, you sound like a whiny kid. Seriously. And I did contribute by pointing out there is a REASON why you don't see a phone number listed anywhere....what, did you think it's just a coincidence? |

Hmm, now I feel bad about calling Michael direct and asking questions about a specific map for the exhaust systems I build. Even though they're unbelievably busy there, he still took the time out to answer my questions. I will also note that every email has been answered within the hour, even at 10:30 on a Saturday night. |

So, for what it's worth, I don't think he sounded whiney at all, and believe he did infact ask a perfectly valid question... Perhaps one of you's who has good luck getting a response out of Erik Buell Racing could send them a friendly email or call to remind them to get back to our fellow 1125 owner who is in need of some sort of live help... All I know is when I'm riding down the street and i see another biker pulled over, i stop to see if they need help, so i dont understand why this forum would be any different... |

Email to the appropriate address. Subject: bike model, part in question information, "checking availability". (a brief summary, so they can tell at a glance what it's about) Body text: BRIEF statement - "I see that item XYZ shows out of stock on your website. Do you offer an alternative piece, or have a backorder release date available? Can I get on an order list for when it becomes available again?" (this is based on your post above, but you get the idea). My name is: Kevin Stevens My vehicle is: year/make/model/BRIEF list of PERTINENT mods My contact information is: email, phone, work phone, cell phone My best contact method is: pick one. My best contact time is: Thank you for your attention in this matter! (signed) your name. Don't tell 'em a story. Don't paint 'em a picture. (I have to confess I'm guilty of both of those to a point....). Ask direct questions and make it clear how to get back to you. If your subject line is muddy, or your story blurs the lines about what you want to get / accomplish...it's hard to formulate an answer. |

I edited it only to explain why I couldn't simply place a web order and wait to be contacted. Again, if you don't have anything to contribute, feel free - feel *encouraged* to shut up. KeS (Message edited by kevin_stevens on May 06, 2010) |

The ability to get along with people that do not have the same sense of personal discipline suggests maturity. The INABILITY to get along with people that do not have the same sense of personal discipline suggests IMMATURITY. R-E-S-P-E-C-T, try it you'll like it. Just as a reference, this is the email address I've used & they've responded so quickly I was amazed, and have even helped me on questions that weren't directly about their products. [tech@ebracing.com] In case you're using another address, maybe they're monitored at different intervals. |

>>>>I'm asking a perfectly legitimate question on how to contact a SPONSOR Easy and legitimate answer: General Information: info@ebracing.com Sales: sales@ebracing.com Tech Questions: tech@ebracing.com There are 10 people trying to carry on business with nearly the SAME NUMBER (it's in the hundreds) of vendors that Buell Motorcycle Company dealt with. I wouldn't dream of trying to call during the day. In addition . . . damn tough (we all recall the silly "whisper to the person next to you" drill when we were a kid) to accurately really information on the phone and you take the luck of the draw of who answers. Drop them an e-mails formatted as detailed above and you'll be in good shape. Court |

You completely rewrote the post because you sounded like a whiney kid as I stated. Why not just add your 'reason' as indicated above in another post? It's a bit obvious and a bit sad. |

I put the "Not Urgent" preffix in the subject line of my e-mail and still got a reply the same day. I had a question about paying postage to the UK for some parts and I was so happy to get a swift, comprehensive and personal response. I think I'm turning into a fanboy! OP - what question is it you're trying to get answered, maybe someone here can help, even if it's anonymously |

The original question was how to get a phone number for Erik Buell Racing. Apparently the answer to that is "don't call Erik Buell Racing", so it morphed into "how do I get a response from Erik Buell Racing". Then it turned into a typical BadWeb dogpile. I was corresponding very nicely with Erik Buell Racing sales up until last Friday, when I was ready to place an order and had a final question on which part number and how to do it. I then had no response to last Friday's email, or the re-send this Wed. Maybe my emails got redirected by a spam filter. Maybe they were never received. Dunno. In normal business when I don't get email responses after a week, I call to find out what happened. Didn't really seem an unreasonable approach outside of the BadWeb universe. (shrug) As I said originally, Erik Buell Racing has been very helpful when I've heard from them. I'd like to buy something from them. KeS |

Bottom line: With the onslaught of the emails from us (good thing!) and a very small staff (as far as I can tell one person answers inventory/customer service issues) probably answering hundreds of emails a day, prioritization is necessary. It's not because they value you less than someone else, it's simply unavoidable. You are inquiring about what appears to be an out of stock item. It's not surprising given the factors listed above your email has been slid down the list. Erik Buell Racing is in survival mode (like MANY businesses these days) and emails likely to generate sales on IN stock items will certainly be given precedence. Don't take it personally. They are doing the best they can. I know for a fact one of the employees had a sewage disaster at his house and has been spending days trying to salvage the homestead. |
