"Oh, it's really not that bad, Frank, they pitch tents and drink beer and chase armadillos and stuff, but they're mostly harmless... "
harmless? Not until someone brings an electric mini-scooter, drinks a few margaritas, zooms up and down the back of Camp Live Oak in pitch dark, launches off a fire pit, and does a flying Superman in to the ground....
2 large T's please. And Jay, we'd take you up on the beer run as well, if you'd be so kind. 2 days worth for two Canadians. Do you guys have kegs down there?
Jay, 1 Large, and 1 Medium. The menu sounds good! looking forward to some of that good 'ol Texas cooking! Thanks for the heads up on the dry county, I will bring a LARGE cooler for my refreshments...
It is not the first time that engine was toasted. I would hazard a guess that the reason someone went to the expense of installing those roller bearings in stock cases and gear case cover, is that all the bushings were previously spun.
I noticed that no one bothered to point out to you that most all of the roller bearings are also spun again as evident by all the random depths in there respective bores. Also note that the only remaining bushing (front intake cam) is spun; that oiling hole for the cam journal is at 4 o-clock, however the port to feed it is at 1 o-clock in the case.
In addition, by the look of what is exposed of those lifers, the bores are severely scored.
Lastly the button head screw in the case near the pinion race has been installed (not stock) to prevent it from sliding out of the case (again); however that has not prevented it from spinning into the case.
Thanks, Rickie, I kinda figured that the other roller bearings were loose, since I can push a couple of them in and out in their bores with my fingers. I didn't notice the scoring on the lifters until you mentioned it, though.
I think the cam cover is upside-down in the picture--it's hanging by the wiring--so that bushing may still be OK. Not that it matters...
Jay is showing his rage at the "system" something usually reserved for rock bands like the Sex Pistols, Ministry or dudes like Iggy Pop. However, Jay has lots of rage about the "system" and cannot hold it back. He needs to start a garage band.
I have a feeling that even though rain is in the forecast it will not be nears as bad as Hooser pass in the rain. for those that made last years gathering will know what I am talking about.
Jay.......one large if not too late. Just got the S2 finished and ready to go. I just went over all the posts......looks like a great group. Rex will not be coming......(death in the family).....
