I just washed the uly after coming back from my Georgia Mtn Rally blast. Well, the front fender was moving around pretty easily. Damn, both fender bolts are missing! It's just holding on where it attaches to the headlight. Here I was worried about the wheel bearings and the belt and I almost lose my front fender. Anyone know what size they are? Looks like it's time for another Ace hardware run.

The thread is UNC 1/4 x 20 but the original bolts are shouldered and are the same as used on the side of the belly-pan. The originals have 1/2" of thread and 1/8" shoulder. If you add a spacer as my temporary fix on the right you won't crush the plastic.

Thanks Rays, I guess you already experienced the same loss. I'll be sure and use some blue locktite with the replacements. I'm glad I didn't lose the whole fender.

Same thing happened to me when my bike was about two months old but didn't actually lose the fasteners. That thing must have really been moving around! As you suggested, I put some locktite blue on the threads and have never had another problem. Glad you didn't drop you fender too. Ride safely!
